parking brake

So I have a 2005 1500 4wd. My parking brake works, but the release doesn't work. i can release it, but i have to do it manually by pulling the brake release, and then using either my other hand or my foot while holding the release in order to release it. is there any way I can fix that?

Not quite following the activity you take, but possibly your cable or outside components are corroded. Only true fix, if that is the case, is full replacement of cable and parts at brake. Try spraying penetration oil at all points where parts move and cable goes into protective sheathing. Big it starts to work a bit better, replacement is needed. Good luck.
