New to this form and I hope I am posting this question in the right place.
I have a 2016 RAM2500 with a 5.7L V8 that the water pump has gone. Fan pulley is wobbling and coolant is leaking. I am wondering if I can do the V6 eFAN conversion and still be able to tow a 7500lbs 5th wheel in average temperatures 20-30'c (68-86'F). Does anyone have any experience with having done this?
Is there a cooling benefit to keeping the system stock? I only drive about 10k (6000 miles) a year so fuel economy is less of an issue.
I have found the Dorman 621-410 Radiator Fan Assembly kit on amazon.ca for about $225cdn.Would this be the correct kit?
To make the software changes I was planning on buying the AlphaODB software, is this suitable to modify the fan temperature setting?
Slightly off topic; are there any after market water pumps that people can recommend? In addition to Mopar I can find Gates, Worldparts, GMB, US Motor Works and Dayco. All about 40% less than Mopar.
