Planning to do a DIY rattle can paint job on some fender flares, been watching various youtube videos and see many different options on how people do this.

this is sort of where I'm at right now

Prep sand with 600 and clean surface
3 coats primer
Sand smooth with 600
3 coats paint
3 coats 2k clear
Cure
Wet sand 2000 and polish

Thoughts?

I’ve been looking at fleabay vinyl overlays for the badges.
I have plasti dipped almost everything at one point, got a deal on a case of it.
Prep is key and thin coats to start.
The more coats you lay, the easier it is to peel off.
The overspray sucks, but can be cleaned off with alcohol.
Remove tape before last coat dries.
Pretty much it.

don't rely on how many coats of paint you are going to need. When i did mine the paint was so thin it took about 10 coats each..

Get the black ones off ebay, they are almost oem, just made out of black plastic

They are black plastic bushwackers, but look kind of dumb next to black paint in my opinion, but I did try that first to see if I liked it
