Hey fellow ram owners. I purchased a flowmaster american thunder for my 2006 ram 1500 and it isnt as loud as i thought. It still has the stock resonator thats before the muffler. Would removing the resonator make the exhaust louder ? Will it screw things up with back pressure or anything?

Yes it will make it louder and no it won't mess up the back pressure because the Flowmaster has a lot of back pressure in and of itself.

Just a straight pipe should do for the resonator eh? Also if thst doesnt make it loud enough would adding different flowmaster series mufflers work?

Yeah, won't hurt it. Most 3rd gen trucks don't have the resos anyway. As for not being loud enough, a different muffler will change the tone, yes.

Im lookin for pretty loud. I had a glasspack on ny 01 ram and loved the loudness lol. The flowmaster came with 2 1/2" piping amd the reso in on 3" pipe does it really matter what size i use to replace reso?

The resonator is on 3" pipe that runs to a 3" inlet in your muffler. You might want a flowmaster Super 10 3" inlet 2.5" dual outlets and then delete the resonator at the same time that way instead of piecing pipe together you could just get a 6' piece of 3" pipe and do it all in one shot.
