Hello,

I tried to do the seat mod and cut about 1.5in off the tabs. When I reinstalled the seats the front of the driver side wants to pop up and not lay flat. If I sit on the seat with weight it’ll go down but as soon as you take pressure off of it it’ll spring back up. Any ideas? 0B1E8FF7-BA80-468B-BF04-97411FC67E48.jpeg

I don’t think, but I guess I could be wrong. If I cut the wrong end then the whole piece would’ve been removed. I measured from the side the has the opening for the D loop to slide into. It locks in, it just won’t lay flat.

OK, the 5th gen is different. My mistake.
Looks like you have some seat covers on, if so, have you tried taking the covers off. The seat should have enough weight.
On this vid they said 1.25" cut off but at 1:35 they were talking about some bracket that needs to be undone also

Hello,

I tried to do the seat mod and cut about 1.5in off the tabs.

Thought is was only 1inch and 1/4 but okay. Still with ya here.

When I reinstalled the seats the front of the driver side wants to pop up and not lay flat.

I assume you mean the bottom seat cushion wants to lift, upwards, when in down postion and no weight upon it, with weight applied, the bottom seat cushion will stay flat.. is that correct?

If I sit on the seat with weight it’ll go down but as soon as you take pressure off of it it’ll spring back up. Any ideas?

Again we are talking about the bottom seat cushion that person normally places their bottom, not their back?

Yup, the bench part you actually sit on.

I’ve read various amounts recommended. I should’ve done less and worked my way up I guess. I believe in that video the bracket they’re talking about may be for a full bench seat.

I have not done the seat mods myself

In the video, it showed an alignment pin, i think it mentioned that there was two on a bench seat.

I could make an assumption that there would be FOUR pins on the 2 piece seats.
Possibly one pin is out of place on the seat nearest the drivers side rear door.

Another thought, is that where the cut off part of the catch on that seat is jammed & it is not letting the seat fully seat in position, but that idea is unlikely
