My Cummins did it a lot because I would left foot brake. The computer didn't like brake and throttle input at the same time
It’s useful on hills for smooth takeoff and to not slide back.
I do this on occasion in my EcoDiesel but it’s never thrown an error code at me.

Well if you think about it, left foot braking and hill assist are basically the same thing other than one is computer controlled and the other is operator controlled. Might be a bad throttle position sensor?I have hill assist on my 2500. I never do this. That's what has me wondering if something has gone bad.

That is true. I never thought about that. Tonight while driving home from work my throttle response was garbage. It was like I had 20,000lbs behind me pulling it.Well if you think about it, left foot braking and hill assist are basically the same thing other than one is computer controlled and the other is operator controlled. No, no pedal Commander or tuner. No pedal commander or tuner I’m guessing right? Have you tried disconnecting the harness at pedal and reconnecting. Dunno why but sometimes just removing plugs works. Stupid electronics lol.
