I was checking my differential fluids and decided to check my t-case while I was at it, and noticed this little metal plate riveted to it that says "New Process Gear" and "Ratio of 272" What does this mean? Is it a new gear since the factory? or is it just what everyone's t-case says? (see pic)

Then I never even noticed this, but is the skid plate below the transfer case supposed to be in two pieces so you only have to remove half of it to work on the t-case and drive shaft? If so, then I am missing the side that goes under the t-case. (see pics)

Any thoughts and ideas would be greatly appreciated.

New process is the manufacturers name
2.72 is the t-case low range reduction

Alright, so is it the original t-case from the factory?

Yes...and the T-case and skid plate are factory parts in thier original condition.
The skid plate only covers the lowest part of the transfer case. Other than being a bit too low itself it works pretty good :)

Haha alright, it just looks goofy and i has the same holes drilled into the crossmember to match the other skidplate... Does anyone know why only half of it is covered?
