I have about 130k on my truck and idk if the plugs have been done. How much of a pain is it to do on a 2011 5.7? And is there any special plugs you guys like?

I did mine on my 2011 5.7...and it was a pain to do IMO. Passenger side wasn't bad as long as you take the intake off, but on the driver side, for at least the back 2 cylinders, the brake booster makes changing them a pain. If you do it, make sure you have a few small extensions you can drop down in there to help. As for plugs, go factory, these engines are picky. And remember, you are replacing 16 of these, not 8!

Just go to a dealer and get them or does Moe's or someone have cheaper deals? I'll need them by next weekend

Agreed. I got mine from the dealer, but I am pretty sure Moes has them in stock. Went with OEM to keep within warranty...

these are not fun plugs to change but not worse ive ever done dodge caravan I forget the year you have to remove to cowl to do the back plugs and on my 1987 buick grand national you have to use 2 universal joints to get the back plugs out on both sides hahahaha

It may sound ghetto but for the driver side under the break boost I just used a couple extensions to break it loose pulled them out and used a piece of water hose to back them all the way off and to start the new ones (spin it lightly backwards so you can feel it seat correctly and back forward so you don't cross thread them) and like everyone else mentioned plain copper plugs and anti seize

To much, its Canada lol. JK You should be able to find them at a parts store for less than a dealer would charge you for them.

I've never run them in my truck but I tried the in my 2010 JKU. 2 cylinders misfired after 200 kms. I will never use them again.

I haven't changed them yet but depending on the amount of beer thats drank during the job I think i could do it in a couple of hours with breaks in there.

Took me a good two hours when I changed mine on my 05, but then I don't get in a hurry so it may take less time for someone else...
