So I have a 2000 ram 1500 5.2l. 5 speed. Well the speedometer doesn't work and it dies on a hard stop. But when it rains or taken too a car wash the speedometer works perfect and doesnt die at all. What could it be?

UUUUUhhhmmm...... That is a tough one.
I'm just gonna guess at some sort of ground issue that might be making a good enough contact when it is getting wet.
Maybe take a look at firewall gound, again this is just guesswork.

The dying coming to a stop is very common with no speed signal in a M/T don't sweat it. Just focus on the sensor. Wait for it to not work, raise and support rear of truck. Unplug vss have someone drive it in the air and check for A/C voltage out of the sensor.
Being a 2000 they usually set codes for vss signal. Any codes?

So I checked for grounds in the engine bay and they seem too be well grounded. The thing that stumped me is that even when it snows it works. And thats when snow is at the wipers
