Strange request

I got offered a job transporting cargo with my truck, but I am required to have a topper with a lock. I am ordering a new one but the guy said it will take 3-4 weeks to get it in. I would love to start asap cause the money is good and I don't want someone else to snag it while I am waiting.

Would anyone be willing to let me borrow or rent their topper for a few weeks while I wait for mine to come in? I will pick it up from you and return it to you so you don't have to drive, unless you want to see where I live to feel more secure about it then I'm cool with that too.

My truck is an 08 QC short bed and the only thing I NEED the topper to do is be secure and have a key lock. Thanks for any consideration guys, I really appreciate it. You can look me up on facebook too if you want, I'll pm you all my info.

Would a 2nd gen short box topper work?? It's not a big camper shell but it locks?.

dude i have checked craigslist nationwide, the closet one to me i have found is in san antonio, there was one in MO but the no phone number and the guy hasnt responded to emails. I'd much rather buy a used one but im kinda outta options at this point

I'll do that when I get home for lunch. It's one of the flat toppers that is fiberglass. So you can't put a lot back there. But maybe it will tide you over till you can find one you want. If it does fit I'm not that far from ya.

My bed is roughly 78"L x 68"wide. and that's what it covers.

so wait, its like a tonneau? or like a camper shell? (these things have too many names lol) Having a lock is pretty much the main requirement, because its medical supplies im transporting.

Dude i appreciate the offer but they said it has to be a topper because of amount of crap i would be taking each night. They said to expect anywhere from 8 to 14 totes. Those big plastic bins you know. I have a meeting with the lady at one so I will double check with her if i can use one of those, if can, I'd love to give it a try if you're cool with it.
