First time using RP 5w - 20. Super splashy, like water! Definitely unlike any other oil I've ever used. Went w/a K&N filter. Wanted a NAPA Gold filter but couldn't find one! So far so good. I feel like the first start up of the day is much smoother, more quiet. Who knows?!?

I rented a new Audi TDI in Germany a couple yrs ago that eventually became low on oil. It had an annoying 'ding-ding-ding' and threatening to stop the engine. It took 0W-20. Took a couple parts stores to find the right oil. $18 for a qt. The gal at the parts store said, "Like Wasser!" :waytogo:

Yep, RP oil certainly is like coloured water.
Don't know why, but it is.
I personally don't prefer their oil.
However, their oil filters, dang best out there.
Part # 20-820 FTW on a 5.7 HEMI!

RP goes through the exact same API certification process as all other oils. If it say's 5w-20, then it is a 5w-20. If its really thinner than that it would be labeled differently.

Y'all think 5w-20 is bad... the new Hemi Chargers are using 0w-20. Still not sure how I feel about that.

Going to get some strong opinions on that one.

Napa gold is good and the K&N is good IMO. Don't like the RP oil myself but there is worse out there.
Can I ask; why don't you like RP?

Thanks, Take care.

NOT another "oil Thread"!!!!!! you all should have learned by now that it is the washer fluid that effects it the most!!!! All you have to do is ad "DAWN DISWASHING SOAP" to the reservoir. Do NOT use "JOY"

You'd have to go check out the oil thread. Lots of good info in there. Redline and Pennzoil Ultra Platinum oils are superior options in my opinion.

I ran RP in my LS1 Z back in the day and I did not like how thin it was. PUP, Castrol Edge, or RL are all great choices. I run PUP in my wifes Jeep. I run Castrol in my ram, and I ran RL in my Charger R/T.
