When it came to looking for a new truck I weighed out both the 5.7 and 3.0. What it came down to was payload. I know it doesn't sound like much but you're talking a 300-400lb difference between engines. If I didn't tow a travel trailer I would've considered the ED more, but any extra bit of payload helps.

I weighed out both the 5.7 and 3.0. What it came down to was payload. I know it doesn't sound like much but you're talking a 300-400lb difference between engines.
When comparing like for like builds of the 1500, the biggest difference between the Hemi and EcoDiesel is the CCLB 4x4 which is 180lbs payload and 1300 lbs GCWR per the SAE towing charts.
