Sometimes when I turn off my traction control and I know I'm going to be getting sideways the tires spin a bit and sometimes the traction control automatically comes back on and doesn't allow the tires to spin freely. What gives?

A guy i worked with told me his i believe 2014 Ram would automatically kick out of Traction control over 40 mph i believe. See if yours does this at this speed or close to it. He was complaining because he couldn't do an "EPIC" burnout.

Lol I'm just complaining cuz I was trying to drift a bit at the local dirt trails. But it happens from 0-25ish cuz I was at a stop

It's most likely the Vehicle Stability Control. You can hold the traction control button down for about 10 seconds and it will turn the VSC off. It will kick back in when the wheel speed hits 40mph.

It doesn't turn totally off and it will step back in depending on the vehicles position relative to the centerline.

I never understood why they would have a button to disable traction control yet it doesn't actually disable it.

Theres no tuners or anything that can bypass it?

You can pull the fuse. I installed a NoESP switch from ZAutomotive in my 300C SRT8 which effectively disconnects the ESP module from power. There's absolutely no traction control on my car when I choose to hit the switch.

However, it's not a condition you want to have operating in normal street driving.
