I just drove 2900 miles across the country with my 2020Dodge Ram 2500 with the diesel engine. I had intermittent trailer brakes until the Temps got into the 50s. Had the trailer brakes checked and they were good. Replaced the pigtail and this did not fix the issue. After it warmed up no more issues and had good brakes. What can I do to prevent in the future and has anyone else seen this?

I drove big rigs & pulled construction equipment for over 30 years

We were all taught to spray the connections with Electric Contact Cleaner & make sure that the trailer pigtail wiring connection screws were secure
