The other day I was driving down the highway at 65 mph, started to hear this awful grinding noise coming from under the truck. Reached down and grabbed my 4x4 shifter and it was vibrating bad. When I gave it some gas the grinding stopped. This was in 2wd obviously. After a couple of days it did it even at low speeds. But it never would do it in 4x4. So me and a buddy pulled the transfer case apart today and found the aluminum fork was broken, and the plastic insert from the other fork missing and destroyed in the case. Lots of metal chunks in the pan from the broken fork. Thank goodness it wasn't worse.

Don't have the cash for a whole new case atm. But is it a straight swap? What's the full part number? Np241dld?

Yes bolt in job, np241dld. There are three versions of this case, so I will keep it simple get one from the same year and from the same tranny as you have.

Np231 on the left and a np241dld on the right. You do NOT want the one in my pix as it has the longer input snout. This one is out of an 95 46rh it will not fit without the use of an clocking/indexing ring that is 5/8ths thick.
