Replaced transmission oil cooler lines today (2001 ram 2500). stupid me, forgot to make a note of which line from tranny goes to radiator.
There is an upper and a lower port on the transmission itself. The lines from these ports go to either the bottom of the radiator or to the aux cooler. I hooked them up the best way I thought (from memeory, which my memory isnt too good)and went for about a 10 mile ride....no leaks and everything seemed fine, and made it home!
My question is....How would I know if I have the lines backward? Which line from the tranny goes to the radiator, upper or lower?
Also, in theory, one line is hot fluid from the tranny, one returns cool fluid...does the hot fluid need to go to radiator first? Aux cooler first? Or it doesn't really matter?
Thanks in advance
