Unconnect 3.0 to 8.4"?

There was a thread regarding this a while back. But I am still curious if anyone has figured out a way to do this switch. I am very unpleased with my 3.0 Unconnect. It's not bad. But it's not what you'd expect in a $30-40,000 vehicle. I would mainly like to bigger screen to fill out my dash along with the bigger screen for my backup cam.


2013 Ram 1500 Express QC
5% tint, daystar leveling kit, straight piped exhaust, plastidipped emblems, 17" rims with nitto AT, rigid pods behind the grill, 40" bar lower grill, strobes, three pods on my tailgate, tailgate bar, CB/PA, tinted tail lights, 8K HID Low and fogs, led cargo and license plate lights, mossy oak weather floor matts, maxtrac 4.5" spindle lift with leveling kit. 7" lift.

there is ALOT more to it than just swapping the radio, dash bezel, heater controls, parts of the actual heater itself, re-programming that the dealer cant do.

go aftermarket!!

thats for a 12. a 13 is a little different but gives you the same idea.

yes you would, but if you set them to what you want before you remove the radio the settings stay. Plus, I think there is a configuration you can do with your key fob that will change the settings as well, I just dont remember what they were...

The struggle is so real. I just want a bigger screen for my backup cam haha
Do the lines that move with camera transfer to an aftermarket system ?

I don't think the 3.0 has the ability to display the backup camera, sure it is not a 5.0?

I have the 3.0 on mine but the camera is shown in the rearview mirror. I will loose nothing when i change the radio.

I honestly am not sure it's a small touch screen that displays back up cam it may be the 5"
