Hey guys need some help with this one. I have got a 98 2500 v10 having coolant circulation and it won't warm up problems. I have replaced to thermostat, waterpump, and radiator. The top hose gets super hot and swells to rock hard. I don't now much bout the v10 but have got a 5.9L 12v and a 318 truck a never had problems with them like this before.

Does your heater work?
Other than the gauge, do you have any reason to believe the truck is over-heating?

I'd try to burp the system real good, and/or new temp sensor.

It's building up pressure in the top hose big time

Radiator getting plugged up maybe? Sounds like its having a hard time getting coolant into the motor. Water pump maybe? Im not sure thats really odd.

Head gaskets, V10's are bad for them going out.

My oil is good, could it be going out combustion chamber? My exhaust isn't coming out white though. How could I test it.

Go to a Firestone, goodyear shop or whatever (I'm a mechanic at firestone) and do a full system coolant flush. It may have crud that randomly burps out and clogging some of the radiator ports we had a 99 Cummins come in with the same exact problem and it randomly spit built up gunk and kept clogging up the cooling system.

Burping these trucks can be a pain, the only way i successfully clear the air from mine is parking it with the front end up on ramps or a steep hill.

I have no idea where the radiator cap is on the V10s, but I know that on my V8s, it was best to park with the right front up on a ramp / curb to burb.

That's why I asked if you'd burped it. The 'goes cold' tells me you have an air pocket that gets to your water pump and then all coolant flow stops.
