Yes I was paranoid and turned off the ac (thinking the clutch might be bad) and it then slowly but surely came back down below 220+\-..not sure if me turning off the ac helped or not but I'm so paranoid about it spiking from 230@3/4 temp gauge to blowing my heads heads

Did you read my posts on page 2? Your truck is working perfectly. 230 is the normal operating temperature according to Mopar engineers. Your gauge being at 3/4 is a computer error. There is a TSB to fix the faulty gauge reading.

230 is normal.

Get the TSB, and your gauge will read 1/2 or below.

Are you sure that you are not seeing the Cylinder Head Temp, not the coolant temp?

In my Mustang, l get a cht, not an actual coolant temp?

on my 75 mile work commute the EVIC never showed above 225 degrees. Analog gauge showed at the halfway mark. Outside temp was 73 degrees, speed was averaging 60-65 mph.

I've tried searching but get different results. Anyone know the tsb for the temp gauge/cluster reflash?

There is a link to the tsb on page 2.

Many thanks and apologies for missing it.

So, Tstat opens at 221? Wondering if there is a different thermostat. I hear the hemi folks install 180 degree tstat's and it works wonders. i will need to further research this.

I've been in my truck with the pentastar sitting in 98 degree GA heat when its 100 % humidity in line at the bank for 15 minutes and my truck never went over 225. Thats with the AC running full blast. I think you are overthinking this, these newer engines are made to run a little hotter to help with emissions. Until it starts getting up around 235 or 240, I wouldn't worry about it.

Thanks for the feedback.

Update: I have called to local Dodge dealers and none of them can find this TSB. They are asking me to bring the car in to have it diagnosed which cost $100 and if then they can pull up the correct TSB it will be another hundred dollars.

I am pretty sure that they are not trying to hustle me because I asked the service advisor if I give them a TSP can he simply take care of that and whether it works or not I won't hold anyone liable for not fixing my truck

Anyhow this is where I stand now. I would appreciate further validation of the 0804813 Tsb

Any one?

I also noticed my oil temp a bit high. I would really like to avoid paying an $100 if I had a valid tsb #

Cheers

I think the dealer charging you to fix a TSP is utter BS, i don't even think they can do that honestly

Recall = Free
TSB under warranty = Free
TSB out of warranty = You pay for the work.

Basically a TSB is is Fiat/Chrysler acknowledging that there is an issue. However, if it is not a safety issue, they will not perform a recall, only the TSB.

I'm simply trying to go to them and say: please fix this tsb in order to avoid paying $100 diagnostic fee for them to tell me something I already know and then pay for the actual tsb.

Here you go. Print this out and take it to the service desk. It show 0.2 hours labor. Since it's a TSB, you will have to pay for it.

Thanks so so much.

I'm not sure why they couldn't find the tsb based on the numbers I gave to them.

I'm going to show this to the dealer and see what they say.

I will update you guys ASAP

Thanks again
