Hi, I’m new here and this is my first post. I bought a 2014 Ram Crew Cab with the 5.6” box and 32 gal. tank last November and have just completed the install of a back-up camera and an integrated brake controller. The wife and I are purchasing a new TT, probably a 20’er (24’ with tongue). The TT is a tandem axle trailer with a listed dry weight of 4265 GVW. I’m just curious as to what others are towing around and how should I expect my rig to handle this combination. Thanks!

Nothing special. A ten foot landscape trailer. Carries around 2,000 lbs. Kind of light weight but I needed a trailer my Polaris Ranger could pull around since I can't get my truck in the back yard any more.

My 13' fiberglass camper, about 1500 lbs all loaded up. Plus a small utility trailer for things like mowers and snowblowers that are a pain to get in the bed of the truck.

Don't plan on towing it again though. It's on blocks with a deck, walking distance to a beach with a boat launch...

What gear, engine and cab you have determines tow weight, here is your tow guide.

I tow that all the time when my trailer is full of tree stumps, hardly notice it back there in T/H mode.

With the 3:21 rear end I'm have a limit of 4800Lb. I pull a utility trailer and a pop-up camper. I plan to buy a R-pod camper next year which is about 2,500 dry weight.

@skiffler........none at all. its a tri-axle trailer so that may help. when i brought it home i was on a highway at about 65mph. i started out a little slower to be sure then picked it up to the speed limit when i was sure it was ok. i used to pull a 7x14 enclosed tandem axle trailer with my 2007 ram and got slight sway, probably caused by the huge windsails caused by the large side area. the trucks were identical other than that. but with the boat i could hardly tell it was there and pulled it better than my enclosed trailer that weighed 1/2 as much.

Mine is similar. 2014 1500 CC with 6.5 RAM box 5.7 with 3.21. I tow a "dry weight if 4100" trailer and scales say it is at 5100 lbs when we travel. Tows like a dream and average about 10.5 mpg overall while towing. This rig is pretty well maxed out due to the low cargo load of 1065 lbs. With a full tank and all having to pee we are right at that weight, even though trailer could weigh more, the added hitch weight would put us over. Just trying to stay safe on the highway.
