Hey everyone. Bout time I replaced my shocks, feels like im driving a giant brick around town. Drives like crap. So 4 shocks and an alignment for me.

So, what shocks do you use? Ive got a 1997 ram 2500 with the 5.9 V8. I do probably 20% offroad fun driving, and 80% highway and street driving. Looking for something that'll give me decent ride quality but can stand up to some abuse. Not looking to spend a ton, either.

Whatcha got?

If you really wanted to buy shocks and be done with it get bilstein 5100's. They are a little pricey but totally worth it. I dont have them personally but I havent heard one bad thing about them other than the price.

If you don't want to spend that, then any 'ol plain shock will do. Differences between the cheapies are negligible.

Have fun with those hard riding shocks, that might last two years at best.

They are probably better than my rough country's. They are ok but still kinda ride rough. I guess thats a good marketing strategy in naming the company "rough" country. lol

Rancho rs5000...don't buy them needed to add multiple washers to the front shock mounts on the bottom. It has a severe popping without them.

A popping you say, huh? Under what conditions? When you're turning?

I removed my shock to install a leveling kit. When reassy'ing, i over torqued the lower mount on purpose. Then, after like a month, it makes a click/thunk/pop when turning from dead straight. Only pops once.
