What's that sound?

2023 Ram 1500 Crew Cab with the 3.6 etorque. I parked the truck last night and as I walked away from the truck, I heard the distinct sound of motor coming on in the truck (sounded like it was emanating from the rear end.) It sounded like an air compressor coming on for a few seconds, then turning itself off. The truck did NOT come with air suspension. Could this sound be the etorque motor coming on? Any other ideas?

I don’t have e-torque or air suspension so I’m going with e-brake too. Don’t really like e-brake coming on on its own because I’ve had brakes freeze in cold weather. Just rented a u-haul that seemed to do the same thing. If I didn’t set the brake it sounded like it set the brake for me?

as far as i know you should be able to shut off the auto brake i can on mine and its off.

Correct. Mine is currently disabled.
