So I am pulling the trigger on doing the leveling lift kit for my ‘10 1500 CC tomorrow. Been lurking and reading for a while and I think I’ve narrowed it down to the Rough Country or Top Gun Customz kits. Pictures and links of both are attached. Anyone have either kit? Pros or cons to either lift? Any help is greatly appreciated.

I would do a set of Bilsteins set at 2.8 with a new set of bils for the back as well.
Then look for some rear spacers if you want to raise the back up.

I had a 2.5inch HBS spacer and it screwed up the front end, had it replaced with bils and its much better

With that many miles you should really upgrade to bilsteins 5100’s, it will replace your worn struts and provide the lift you want.

Yeah but there’s nothing wrong with the struts and I also have to do tires so money is getting tight

A couple thoughts First Responder. I get where you are headed, and $$ is tight. Can you do this in stages? Those of us with Bilsteins never regret having bought them, irrespective of lift we later choose. Plus, you are only improving your ride with Billies. The lift kit you list above won't improve your ride (and may even worsen it). You want a 2.5in lift, and the Bilsteins will give it to you. Now you have investment protection, as you later may want to go higher, so you keep your Billies on and adjust as needed with a 4 or 6in lift. On the tires front, my recommendation is get em after your struts are on. Sorry to be a killjoy, I was right where you are today and glad I listened to the Billies fans instead of doing an RC lift.

Cheers!

No killjoy at all, I’d love to do the bills, just not to familiar with them. Can they also be set for the rears too? I like the factory rake just want to lift the truck and leave that rake. And of course I’m doing the tires after the lift. Def need to make sure everything is straight and alligned

Yea like stated above if you’re tearing into your suspension you might as well get the bilsteins then you’re getting the lift and new struts at the same time. You could put that leveling kit on and next week a strut blows then ya gotta tear it apart all over again. Start fresh all at once. Plus the bilstein struts are only a lil bit more than that rough country kit. Rear spacers aren’t expensive so it won’t take much to save for them and get the rake you want either. Just a thought for ya!

+1 For Bilstein Leveling struts, Installed on my 16 Ram 1500 4x4 recently, truck rides better than stock. Set at 2.1 and had alignment done at same time. Very happy. Several months later, wheels and tires are shipped and on the way. Takes time to collect the funds but doing it right the first time is priceless

The rear shocks from Bilstein are not ride height adjustable like the struts, BUT, you can set your Bilsteins struts up front (up to 2.8", technically 2.75) to maintain your factory rake. I had front (5100s) and rear (5000s) Bilsteins on and later upgraded the tires/wheels, and raised it to 2.8 to eliminate the 3" rake. The truck drove like a cadillac. I have since lifted the truck with a Zone 4". I swapped out the rear Billies for Zone shocks with 3" coilovers , but kept my Billie struts, just moved them from 2.8 to 2.1 to get the level I wanted. Billies just rock.

Ok so after everyone's input I went with the Bilsteins for the front and the topguncustomz rear .75" coil spacer for now. Got the Bils for $91 a piece too!
