Got a '23 Big Horn 2500 about a week ago. Loving the truck! Id like to get a set of mud flaps to protect the paint and help keep it clean.
Ive never put mud flaps on anything. Im leery of drilling into the truck to mount them.
I think I want a heavy flexible rubber kind, rather than a hard plastic. I like the idea that if im offroad, crossing a ditch, driving over something, etc... the rubber will flex and not break.
I looked on RealTruck and some of those ridiculously expensive! Now way Im paying $250+ for 4 slabs of rubber, and a little plate glued to it.

Who has experience with some mud flaps? Im leaning toward the CAT flaps below. Im not too sure how they mount though.

I'm not sure about the 5th gens, but Mopar does have rubber ones for the 4th gens. They use the existing holes, with maybe drilling one additional hole. The Cat ones you have referenced look nice, but I would imagine that you would have to drill all the holes for those. That isn't the worse thing since that was the way it was done years ago. I would take a look at Weathertech, and Husky as well.

Thanks for all the responses guys! Gives me a direction to continue the search. Plan on pulling the trigger on something next week probably.
We have a solid 48 hours of rain right now down South, so it makes me wish I had them ASAP.

I have Weathertec on my 2021 2500. Fit good, fair coverage, but I do a lot of driving on gravel so added bed steps to keep down the rocks and will add Bushwacker sill guards. I tried 3M on the rocker panels and down the sides but it is not nearly tough enough to stand up to a lot of gravel hits.

Rear Guard, no drilling, uses existing holes. I added silicone to the screws before running them back in.

I have the Mopar Rubber mats.. They do the job!
No drilling needed and uses existing holes

FYI if you have OEM running boards hard mats may not fit !

I just picked up a set of 4 from Husky. Haven't had a chance to install them yet, but they appear to be no-drill. Less than $100.

Husky mud flaps required no drilling. They did not cost that much. They do the job.

They have little mounting bolts that have to kind of moved in an awkward position on the body to mount. I used a magnet and it was easy. check that. It was the running boards that needed the magnet. Flaps were easy to mount.

Just ordered the WeatherTech flaps. They look alot better then what I had initially picked out. I like the lifetime warranty, so if one gets damaged I can replace it.
$160 seemed steep at first, but when you figure what a paint repair would cost due to rock chips, ill cough it up.

I have an absolute PILE of stuff to put on my truck now... just waiting on the rain to stop. It Cant Rain All The Time. :peace:

Another vote for Weather Tech, no drill and do a great job.

I just installed the Gatorback mud flaps on my new Power Wagon. Easy to install, but I did have to remove each tire to do so. Had to make a few 1/4” drill holes in the plastic wheel liner, but it was a very simple job. They will definitely keep the rocks from hitting our boat and wave runners in tow. I did paint the hardware black. Washers etc. The mud flaps cost $200.00. They have some that have Ram on them, but not worth the extra cost. The hardest part of this job, is lining the rims up with the lugs. Once that was done, I torqued the lug nuts to the proper spec. They are flexible and heavy duty. https://www.sharptruck.com/

I had factory and also had some aftermarket ones but did not do the job I wanted them to do (control overspray and prevent throwing undesirable things at the truck side body on gravel roads). I opted for ones that wrap up almost vertical in the wheel well and extend from the body to reduce the overspray as well as being wider than my tires themselves. Used existing holes.

I installed the MOPAR flaps on my 2024 Dually. They definitely help. Without them there was significant mud deposited in the back bumper. I just pulled my enclosed trailer on a gravel road and it still received quite a bit of spray, even with the flaps installed.

There are a few 1/4" holes to be drilled in the plastic liners to install.
