Dodge Ram 1500 Recall Issued Due to Risk of Corroded Fuel Tank Straps from Road Salts - AboutLawsuits.com
A Dodge Ram recall has been announced in states that use high amounts of road salt, due to the risk that one of the fuel tank straps could corrode, resulting in a fuel leak or vehicle fire.

my 2004 dodge ram 1500 just broke due to rusted away to nothing...live in snowy salt area...
ive owned many very used crappy high mileage old cars in my lifetime and have never had a rusted away fuel tank strap...why are they not made of stainless steel or much thicker steel?...it seems they are very thin and this is why rusted away...from salt....if using thin cheap steel...i think there should be minimum 4 straps so if 1 breaks you wont have catastrophic even...when only 2 are present if 1 breaks it will be trouble.
