Wife got a new Truck last week

So last week the wife and I acquired our "new to us" 2019 Longhorn 1500 4wd w/ 23k miles.. 1st few mods will be to completely get rid of all the chrome. I have already ordered new hood and door lettering but after that, it'll be time for the grill/bumper. Also I'm going to downside the 20's for a set of 18's with a 275/70. The truck is mainly for my pregnant wife and our future child. I wanted to surround her in as much material as I could. She wanted the interior and i wanted a night edition.. So soon we'll have both.. I have also already ordered a bed step, LED cargo lights and a set of bed LED's. I've searched around the forum site and couldn't find anyone else that hates the chrome as much as I do so if you have any suggestions, lmk..

It is called debadging







A lot of automotive shops have asked me what my truck is
If they can't look at the shape of the grille & the shape of the front & rear emblems.

I know that they don't know much about Rams & i wish them a great day & leave before they touch it

I fawken hate chrome on these trucks more than you lol ..

I would suggest you get the chrome sprayed with Raptor bed liner which if you have a decent sized air compressor you can do the work yourself ...

The grille is easy to prepare, I used a nylon wheel brush on my dewalt polisher to scuff it all up, then sprayed the bumpers with an etching primer then the bedliner, on the grille I sprayed it with an adhesive promoter and then the bedliner ....

Congrats on the growing vehicle fleet AND the growing family! I don't hate the chrome itself necessarily, but I do hate the amount of work it takes to keep it shiny and nice. And the way Dodge, sorry, RAM does chrome makes a Harley look like it's holding back.

I used to a be a mechanic/service advisor and now I'm an mech engineer so most of the work will be done by me.. I have already ordered new wheels/tires and plan to sell these ugly 35s.. also just got the bed step, cargo LEDs, and blacked out lettering/badges..

I'm most likely going to change the grill to a night edition grill and wrap the surrounding chrome pieces..

I de-chromed mine with Plasti dip. Bumpers, badges and grill. The only thing left is the handles and I may just order painted to match ones.
