I know I've asked similar questions like this before but now I know what I want. I have a 3.7L v6. I have a 3.92 rear gear and want to buy 35x12.50x17 pro comp all terrain tires. Can I push those tires without going under 12mpg? And without getting gears. If gears which ones?
Can I clear the tires with the lift I have on my signature? Thanks!!

if i were to guess id say you would be right around the 12 mpg area with that setup. as far as the clearance goes im not sure. i had 35's on mine with no rubbing but mine is 4wd so it sits up a little higher too...

What wheels would you be running? Might be an issue there if you don't have the proper offset or spacers.

I know I've asked a lot of similar questions as partains to can my motor handle big tires. Instead of the 16.5 wheel and tire set I went ahead and bought 17inch moto metal 951 black and am having them put on tomorrow afternoon. I have the 3.7L v6 standard 5-speed transmison in my 2004 3rd generation. I was hoping to be able to put 35's which would be 35x12.50x17. I also have a 3.92 stock rear gear that is the bigger of the 2 options that were stock for my truck that year. Would that gear cut it to be able to push them and get in the range of 12mpg stil? If not what gear to run? Someone suggested at 4.10 gear. I'd like to stay away from that expense if I can. My lift is on my signature and I also have a 3inch body lift going on in a month or so. If anyone can help me snag any problems I might have with these combination of upgrade is what I'm looking for! Thank you!!!

Well there is only one way to find out for sure....
But if I were guess I would say that you will be hard pressed to get 12mpg (in town).
Just judging by my old truck (05 4wd hemi, w/35's 4" lift and 3:92 gears) I was only getting abot 11mpg after installing an intake, exhaust, and tuner. Your truck is going to have to work a lot harder to push those wheels/tires and truck around so I don't think that you will be seeing 12mpg.

The rims are 17x9 with a 4.5 backspace and 12mm offset. I know someone who has a smaller v6 in his gmc and has 40inch tires, and still gets decent gas mileage. He has bigger gears but i I thought maybe since I have more motor than him and a much smaller tire. I'd like a 35, but maybe a 33.
