Let's have a RAM meet at the beach...hang out, meet each other, drive on the dunes, fish, or a combination of all.

So we're looking at...

Date: November 3
Time: 1:30 pm
Place: San Louis Pass (Galveston side)

Here's a list I pulled from the other thread of interest so far.

November 3rd

4wd is NOT needed. If you're not 4wd you may need a tug in a place or two, but there should be plenty of people there with straps to help you out.

Also, if anyone has an ATV they want to bring, there are places to ride down there as well. I'll be bringing 4 wheeler.

I'll post updates here as the date gets closer. Who's coming?!

Update 9/5/2012, Latest Attendee's list:

1) GhostRam94
2) MuscleMckeester
3) Hemi450hp
4) sullivan
5) Chaney
6) Texas Hemi
7) To3z
8) the codes
9) SILVER_BULLET
10) S2kiHemi
11) JOHNNYR89
12) KBExperience
13) ATXHEMI
14) Srich1845
15) infernoredram
16) 09 R/T
17) The Maddog
18) joeg45
19) Lostnwalmart
20) my brother in law (he's got a Ram, just not on the forum)

I have 4 interested coming from another forum. Still plenty of time to get the word out and have a bigger turnout.

I just realized November 4 is a Sunday...would November 3rd work out better for everyone? I always like to get my truck washed down real good after going to the beach the next day...if we meet on Sunday that would not be possible with work the next day.

Sounds like a good time to me, I'll put it on the calender. I try and go to Galveston as often as possible, so another excuse to go would be great. Last weekend I attempted to make the drive from Port Arthur to Galveston on HWY 87 from Sabine Pass. (for anyone not familiar with the area, its a stretch of road that starts near the border of Louisiana and continues along the coast to High Island, Bolivar Peninsula, the ferry, and eventually Galveston. The section between Sabine Pass and High Island has been washed out and closed off for several years. This is also the area that got slammed by Hurricane Ike back in '08) I always thought this would make for an awesome off-road drive... note to self: next time go with a group of people who also have 4X4's. I got into some bad mud a few miles down and had to make the hike back down the beach to find another truck willing to help me out. Anyway, sounds like this will be a good trip, I'm looking forward to meeting up with some fellow Ram owners. Not to mention the awesome Ram beach photo's that will inevitably follow

Definately needs to be on a Saturday. That time of year, the bull reds are running thick on the beach, but San Luis Pass is a better place for us to play around with the trucks. The pass sounds good to me.

Recently traveled to a different forum meet in fort worth last month. It was a blast! 18 trucks showed, hopefully more for th is one! I would love to show up with you guys. Gives me an excuse to take vacay off from the business. (; thanks for the invite and throw me up on the going board.

Awesome! Last beach meet we had there 7 were trucks in attendance (those were just 09+). Should have a lot more this time!

You'll have to tell me more about this closed area when we meet up...I may be interested in checking out this out.

Haha we'll let Musclemckeester hook up to your bumper and I'll hook on to your TB and we'll have at it.

Problem solved

I don't have 4 wheel drive. Just drive slow.

But Kevin better not **** me over. I'm painting my bumpers before this.

Driving slow in 2wd is about as bad as it gets in loose sand. You better be ready to put your foot to the floor and let it rip.

haha this is going to be a good time.

Matt's 100% right though, going slow through sand is like going slow through mud...it just doesn't work. Get you some momentum and you'll be fine. Heck last time, I had a 2wd 2010 following me around on the dunes and he only got stuck when he couldn't see on the other side of a dune and had to stop.

I think Kevin and I should have a throwdown in the soft sand along the bridge...high speed runs...haha.

That's all you Matt. Only high speed runs I'll do along there will be on my 4 wheeler. Although it would be a good way to see how much this lift will really hold up to...
