I think that tire size looks good
shadowhawk, maybe check the weight on those Falkens. When I was researching tires I noticed the Falken wildpeak was a fair bit heavier than the othersthat makes sense. My wife says I can't get new tires since mine only have 19K on them. She doesn't appreciate the fact they are the crappy SRAs though.
JB- I agree. Kinda rethinking if I need to go 35x12.5, but the Falkens I want are only 32.4", not the 35" like the Nittos are
if I compare the same tires in a 285/55r20, they are only a few lbs difference. Nitto makes a 285/65r20, but falken doesn't.
The same tires in 35x12.5r20, Nitto is 12 lbs lighter per tire than Falken. The Nitto is $120 more per tire though.
3.21s here, unfortunately.
Rumor has it 3:21's aren't bad with the 8 spd tranny ...
Have the 3.21/8 spd with 35 nittos. I refrained from moving to 37's due to the added sluggishness. Now that I have a PC, I realize that would have been irrelevant other than a little more drain on my mpg. So long as I can confirm a heavier tire will not compromise anything else, I'll not be concerned with the added weight.
my wife is not at all thrilled with the almost $3 a gallon gas prices. losing MPG isn't a good selling point to her
I have more tattoos than she does, and she doesn't want any new ones. She did, however, get a new patio. I think that qualifies me for a new garage floor plus new tires on the truck!
