You can fix this - just need to move a fuse one position over to have 12V hot all the time.
Does this work on a 2015 Ram also? If so, can you point me in the right direction for some instructions

Mine does, in my 18. I’m not sure what the temperature is but when it gets down to a certain temperature outside and I go to remote start my truck, it automatically turns on the heated steering wheel and the warmer in driver seat and even in the summertime when I go to remote start my truck, it automatically turns on the ventilation fan in my driver seat.
40 degrees default setting (heated options)

I can feel it when the computer is trying to override my small pedal adjustments. And then, when it finally figures out what I wanted it to do, it overreacts to try to catch up to what I wanted done a half second ago. By then, the computer's reaction is usually too much and too late. Add in the fact that the transmission is choosing third gear for me when I really wanted fifth and I hardly feel like I'm the one controlling the truck at all.
I bow to the more in-tune. Really - I do realize the some people have a "special appreciation" for certain things. I had a guy pay $180 for a piece of wood this week. Would I have paid it? NO WAY!!! But...

after 4.5yr i found something mechanical i dont like about my 17 pw. on the 66rfe where the dipstick tube goes into the trans housing theres a single lip seal. i much rather would have seen a oring here . that seal looks to be a pita to remove and not much easier to put back in. if any 66rfe engineer reads this i hope he realizes his rookie mistake

One of the best features on this truck!!!!
I remote start it in the morning. it's nice and toasty and windshield defrosted before I enter the truck. Awesome.
Used to be the best on mine. I had the TSB done, and they added/moved sensors and stuff and flashed the HVAC and other systems with upgrade. This flash upgrade basically "turned" off the fan speed on cooling, unknown on heating but I bet the same. Fan speed has been derated like 80% or even does not come on and dealership is unable to do ne thing about it, grrr, otherwise great truck. I do think the heated portion on the seats/steering wheel will work, I hope.

Man, that sucks. Since I've had the truck, December of 2015, my truck has never been back to the dealership. Hard pass for me.
Reading posts like yours and others, makes me leary of bringing it there. I have a buddy with a shop, so they do all my work. Nice little 3 person shop, 2 mechanics and one in the office.

They did a good job on it. They pull out the entire dash, and hvac, and fan motors, and put in more sensors, rebuilt box, etc. The problem is with the updated Software. Basically nullified the remote start comfort system.

Wow. That's good.
I wonder why the software would do that? Is it supposed to do that? I would think the updates were supposed to make things operate better?
I'll leave mine the way it is. lol

Well, they moved and added sensors. I was not a Happy Camper. I did go out on the lot and checked (2) new 2021's, since they had the changes, and they sucked. I would like them to roll back the flash to get more functionality on the remote start comfort options, but that they will not do, so I am stuck. Other than that, truck great. I did send an email to my SA at Dealership questioning any updates and such. I have a decent dealership, but nothing they can do if FCA forces this change, so no sense going to Dealership and raise heck, just get me in the caboose, LOL.

Yeah, that sucks.

Good luck going forward. I've been looking at new trucks as well. Don't want to pull the trigger just yet. I think this economy is going to take a dump at some point. I'll then capitalize on the dealerships wanting to sell at discounted/less expensive prices for ordering a truck. Not sure what brand I am going with. I REALLY want a TRX, (but don't we all?? lol), but I don't think I could afford the gas pains. It would be astronomical. lol
I do like the 2022 GMC AT4 as well. But holy crap, over 70k for the one I spec'd out online. o_O :boxed:

I have seen the Ads for the GMC. But that is prototype. None exist, chip shortage. There are so many "vehicles" parked, thousands and thousands and more. SO when the chip shortage chills and these already built trucks hit the Market, it will be a Buyers haven for sure. Until then, my now 3 yoa Bighorn works for me. I sure as heck would not pay 70K for a Chevy and way more than that for a TRX. Just not needed and I sure as heck could not afford ne way.

Yes Birdman, important to have the heated seat and steering wheel come on that one day every other year when your temps dip below 40 F. Lol

U so funny, roflmao. Actually winter temps down here run low to about 26F for 2 months, except for that Frozen Tundra that I think RADO sent down here for 6 days and went to -5F. Not seen that cold since being at Bad Tolz in December on a FTX for LRRP trainees.

I just wish FCA could come out for some type of flash to redo the Remote Start Fan/Cooling option after having TSB done. Right now, it has been derated like 80% pre-TSB action. Which means, my AC not hardly run till I go outside, open truck, and hit RUN. And if I leave system on, but not on Auto Climate, EVIC reads Climate Control System Off when I go in truck from remote start.

YOURS is fine, no reflash required. The TSB was for Gen 5 built 2018 to early 2020 with AC issues, so U good to go.

AHHHH, yeah, walk out door, open truck and hit RUN, but that does defeat the purpose of the Remote Start Comfort Settings... Gotta luv FCA.
