I really like my 2022 Laramie night addition 5.7 etorque. Just make sure you get all the options you want. If you are buying from dealer lot, dealers given the opportunity to add or take out options. Like mine does not have tow hooks. Stay away from air suspension. If you can get addaptive cruise with blinde spot monitoring without air suspension, do it. It is nice to have blind spot.

Almost all of these complaints have absolutely nothing to do with anything that belongs on a truck.
That's a matter of opinion. With the possible exception of the sunroof I never use, I think everything on my truck belongs on a truck. Maybe you meant to say that these things don't belong on your truck?

We even made automotive audio amplifiers that ended up with labels like Bose and other well-known names. Now Bose would fine-tune the amps to the vehicle but they made nothing.

That's pretty much 90% of all electronics. OEM'd by one company, labelled and sold by another. As in iPhones all made by Foxconn.

I drove GM for decades before going RAM. Got quite used to Bose, and loved them. They weren't loud or boomy like the stereo in my RAM, but noticeably cleaner. The RAM Harmon Kardon system I have is nice, and awesome on most songs. Though it can get out of sorts with my ears in some songs. Bose was clean each and every song. I just can't seem to get the mid-range dialed in perfectly in the RAM.

That and the dash lights are too dim in headlight mode. Would like to see more adjustment ability when in headlight mode for dusk/dawn situations where it's not quite dark so the low dash lights make the dash disappear, and non-headlight mode is too bright.

Other than those minor issues, my RAM is the best truck I've ever owned.

Careful, I over-optioned my Longhorn truck. Less than 1,000 lbs payload due to all those options. Either that or the Filigree stitching is heavier than they realize. (sarcasm...)

What would you tell a guy who is considering a RAM for his next and first full size truck, that is negative about RAM? I pretty much know all the Pros...which is why i've put RAM at the top of my list....my second choice is a Toyota Tundra (I'm in a 2nd Gen Tacoma now). I'd really like to know what kind of problems to expect that is pretty typical with Ram trucks. I really love the looks of the Rebel, but i dig the the Laramie with the Night package....those would be my 2 choices. I'm open to hear about engine choices....I am primarily a city driver, this would be my daily driver.but intend to do some road trips with the family. I do not tow anything...not a boat guy....or a camper guy...I go old school...lol
I love my 2019 Larmie with etorque, 5.7 hemi. I would advise getting the 3:21 gears, they make a huge difference in gas millage but don't affect pulling much at all.

Font sizes in the cluster and uconnect need to be bigger. Cluster needs to be brighter at night WITHOUT turning off the uconnect dark mode. Driver leg room could use another inch or two.

My wife and I love our 2019 Laramie 1500 CC 5.7l 3.92 rear gear. Tow our 27' travel trailer alot camping and supporting SCCA events. Been from SC to CA and back, and Maine to Florida. Love the smooth ride when not towing. Get 10 - 11.5 mpg towing depending on the terrain, 15 around town, and 20 on the highway. I've found the sweet spot for highway MPG at 2000 rpm/58 MPH, but that suits me fine since I don't like to travel more than 350 - 400 miles per day. However if I need to go fast the hemi is there to support me.
My only complaint is that I wish it had a step up notch in the rear bumper to aid in getting into the bed with the tailgate down. The Weathertech rear bumper step is useless with the tailgate down.

5.7 Hemi Crew Cab,
I absolutely love my 2020 Longhorn Crew Cab. Two things and probably the only two things that I miss from my Silverado would be the ability to retract the mirrors from the remote and it would be nice if the heated seats were split so you could turn on just the seat or just the back separately. Sometimes I would like the heat on my back but don’t need the seat getting hot. Other than those two things my RAM is heads and tails a much better truck. The MOPAR transmission is light years better than the crappy GM slipping, shuddering, hesitating, clunking GM 8speed.

Hmm, lets see. I love my 2021 Limited Night Edition. Looks fantastic, very attractive interior, ride comfort is second to none. I haven't had any issues with mine, but if I had to complain about something, I wish there was a way to only have the passenger side mirror tilt when in reverse. I also would like the mirrors to fold when I put my truck into park. One other thing is I would like to be able to change the temperature at which the seat heat/ventilation and steering wheel heat come on. All pretty minor annoyances in the end. I'm sure people who have experienced the rear window cracks/leaking or fueling issues might have a more negative opinion about their Ram trucks.

I love my 2019 Ram 1500 but I do not like the way the controls are set up there are 6 round knobs all close together for the gear shift knob, the heat control, and the radio. I am scared that I will be reaching to turn the heat down and grabbing the gear shift throwing it into park.

If you are mostly a city driver and don’t tow, I strongly suggest looking at the V6. I had a 2014 V6 and had zero complaints until I got a bigger horse trailer. Definitely needed to switch to the V8 at that point, but sadly miss the superior MPG of the V6. Been driving my current 2019 Classic Hemi for 3 years.

Honestly, the only issue I’ve had with either of my Gen IV’s is the UConnect radio. It’s frozen up 6-8 times and doesn’t have the features I’d like to have, but it’s always self corrected and I’ve never actually had to take it in to be serviced.

Oh yeah, and the ”safety feature” RAM has where you can’t move the vehicle if the drivers door is open and the seatbelt is not latched is a PIA. I installed a seatbelt extender so the truck thinks the belt is always latched but I can still put my seatbelt on when I’m actually driving down the road.

I have a ‘21 Warlock. This is my first Ram truck and I bought it because the deal was too good to pass up. It was $9750 off in February because it was a’21, plus I get an FCA discount through the company I work for and I got loyalty cash from buying a Rubicon for my wife last summer which all added up to $15300 off.
Overall it’s a nice truck to drive (5,7L) but I’ve noticed a slight shudder at idle that don’t seem right but I haven’t got enough miles on for an oil change yet.
I don’t like how I have to keep pushing the button to select a mirror to adjust it (I back in my driveway tight to one side)
I don’t like how there’s NO key lock on the tailgate handle and it locks and unlocks automatically with the doors with no way to change that.
I HATE the BS wrangler tires on the 20” rims. They’re going to be switched before next winter.

First my perspectives from my 2005 Ram purchase then my perspectives from my 2020 Ram purchase.

My first truck was 2005.
I looked long and hard at all makes and models. It is my from but very humble opinion that there was NOT a bad one out there. The *** ones, the US (Canadian) ones, ALL were great trucks. TBH I only "went Ram" in 05 because they were the only ones offering "employees (or family?) pricing to the general public in a marketing gimmick at the time, plus it was the original one that went with the semi truck look with the hood and fenders. Others were coming online with that style but the Ram was still more pronounced. I owned it for 15 years and a quarter-million miles including towing horse, and while I do have some gripes I won't cover them here because I have no way of knowing that had I had a Chevy or Toy for an equal amount of time those too might not have had problems along with age and wear.

When I was due for my next truck in 2020 I admit I had a preference for Ram because it was the devil I knew vs the devil I didn't.
I made a half-hearted attempt to look at other makes and models and if something had truly jumped out at me I am reasonably certain that I would have moved on from Ram onto another brand - IF something caught my fancy.
Again, as in 05, I found that there was not any bad truck. All were good.
What finally sealed Ram for me was the RamBox. I really really wanted the RamBox. While there is debates as to it's utility and pros/cons, for my situation and my use-case the RamBox is a big winner.
I almost went for the new fangled GMC magic Transformers tailgate, but in second thought the fancy tailgate is really a solution looking for a problem, not a must-have. Sure, if my year of Ram came with such a tailgate you could catch me being a fan of it and talking it up, but I decided that tailgate was not enough of a "thing" to push me to GMC.

Now, on to your question.

The only Con I have on the 20 Ram is the RamBox lids. They are made of plastic (polymer?) , not sheet metal, so they warp slightly in summer and winter. Not horribly so, bit when you pay $50k the freaking seams better be on pointe!!! I say it's off kilter just enough to make any discriminating autophile shake his head at the typical modern American lack of quality when compared to, say, Germany or Japan. It is so indicative and stereotypical of shoddy American nowadays problems that it sometimes just ******* me off to no end to see it. Most times though, the casual onlooker never notices it, and I never notice it.

Other than the weak lids, I'm a Big Fan of RamBox and Ram. Highly recommend. Ten out of ten. (Except the RamBox lids, only 6/10 for those.)
