Best AT tires for everyday use and snow?

Absolutely try the General Grabber ATX - I always ran BFG All Terrains, or Mud Terrains, but I bought a set of LT275/70R18 General Grabber ATX for a 2014 F150 4X4 I owned, and they were way better than any All Terrains I ever had, in mud and especially in snow - I live in New Brunswick, Canada...

    Opinion on service bill

Shop supplies have been charged on work orders for over 25 years here in New Brunswick, Canada, and are usually based on a percentage of every hour of technicians time spent on your vehicle. This garage charges 5% of the labor charge, which I suspect is $139.95 per hour by the labor charges, and...

    Lifter tick after sitting

You are fortunate.......I have a 19 Classic with a 5.7 and 24,000 miles (40,000kms) and if it sits for more than a day it ticks for 2-3 seconds every time it is started. I change the oil and filter every 2000-3000 miles (3000-4500kms). I had it changed at the dealer 3 or 4 times, and the rest I...

Knob dial vs shift on console

I AGREE 100% - MY FIRST RAM, AND I DON'T KNOW IF I WOULD BUY ANOTHER ONE IF ALL I COULD GET IS THE ROTARY KNOB FOR A SHIFTER - I HATE IT.......

    Soft suspension on a 4x4

Coil springs is the problem as far as I am concerned...............and my 2019 1500 Classic is no smoother than my last 4 F150's or any GM product I drove. Not sure what the idea of the coil springs was.............GM and Ford got rid of them years ago....GM in 1971 or 1972 I think, and Ford...

Oil Change or Not...What would you do?

In my opinion, I would change it, but I was always overkill on maintenance. I change the oil in my 2019 Classic 5.7L long before it ever gets to 40-45% life remaining. My truck is 3 years old this month with 36,000 kms (22,400 miles) and I have changed the engine oil and filter 8 times already...

What engine oil do you use in a 5.7 Hemi (non-eTorque)?

I still can't believe that in this day and age, a manufacturer can't figure out how to PROPERLY supply oil to the cam and lifters........or at least that is what a lot of people on here say is the problem. No, excessive idling was never the "best" thing for a gasoline internal combustion engine...

New Ram owner, can't believe how bad it is in the snow.

I assume you are talking driving on normal paved streets and roads in snow - and as most others replied, that is the worst setup for a vehicle possible for everyday driving in the winter. The wide tires on the front will not turn because it distributes the weight over a wider contact area, and...

    Need a snow tire recommendation

You can go with a "dedicated" winter tire, but, depending on how much highway/bare pavement driving you do, you would only get superior traction that a true winter tire delivers for 1-2 winters due to the regular wear of the soft rubber, and rounding of the sipe shoulders, and anything above 40F...

    Stuck in snow

First off, there is no need to apologize that you are new to all this - everybody on here had to learn and get experience at one time. All depending on the conditions, in some cases 4 LOW is an advantage, such as heavy deep mud, but in other cases, it is a disadvantage, especially in some...

Mobil 1 EP VS Castrol EP

There are many posts about what oil is best..............but it almost seems that every person has a different preference........ In this day and age, there shouldn't have to be any posts about what filters and oil you have to run in a vehicle, as long as it is a good quality oil and a good...

    Front Stabilizer bar

Even if your sway bar is split, anybody with any experience and a welder could fix it, grind it nice and smooth, repaint it and presto - inspection passed. It may only be the coating coming of the metal, and in that case you could sand it and paint it and should be no trouble. Good luck

I never heard tell of this product. Very good information and I will check into this, because RainX doesn't last that long

    2010 1500 with leveling kit

Just a question since you all are talking wheels, tires, and levelling kits. I have a 2019 1500 Classic, with the "blackout" package, and the truck came stock with 20" black wheels. Any truck I had bought new before - 06,08,11,13, and 14 F150's all had the XTR package-I love chrome. Bumpers...

    Rustproof?

This is gonna be a long rant, so if you don't read it, I will understand--- In my opinion, some answers need explanation and reasons why - I am no expert, but just explaining what works for me from 45 years of owning vehicles in a part of Canada that can have up to 6 months of winter some years...
