    Years to avoid/buy - 2500 for towing

I can’t help you on the gas but my 2012 Laramie Longhorn CTD has every gadget available then and pulls like a locomotive! I regularly pull a 39’ fifth wheel and it has no issues. I am a little over my payload rating but well under my GAWR and GCVWR. At 114k I plan to keep it for a long time.

    Planning to buy this truck

I have a 12 Laramie Longhorn. It’s a 2500 w/6.7 so I can’t offer much help drivetrain wise but the truck has been great. It has 112k on it and I hope to put that many more on it. Based on the pictures and info given, I’d buy it in a heartbeat if it’s what you want! Please keep us updated if you...

Need to make buying decision based on towing; Please help!

I have a 2012 Ram 2500 w/6.7 Cummins. It will pull a house off it’s foundation but could use a little more payload capacity. Great truck! For the size load you’re considering I think the 2500 w/4.10 gears in the ad you linked would do a good job. The 6.4 is a little more powerful but the 5.7 is...

Best highway or all season tires

I’m running Cooper Discoverer HTPs on my Jeep GC. This is the 2nd set and got over 60k on the first set. They still had decent tread left but with winter coming on I decided to replace anyway. Last summer I put a set of Cooper Discoverer ATPs on my Ram 2500. So far so good. Very little road...

Towing a fifth wheel - confused

I won’t further hammer the statistics any more because that’s already been well detailed, but if you’re looking into the lighter weight 5ers and still want a fireplace, you may want to look into the Durango Half-Ton line. We are in the process of buying a full profile Durango but in the process...

    Bumper or 5th Wheel

One more thing to consider, though the ceiling is higher in the living area of a 5er, and you can get them with larger beds and showers, there is some ceiling slope toward the front of the bedroom. I'm 6'4'' and can comfortably take a shower in our 5er, the bed is a full length queen so it's...
