I didn't move after the first reminder and got it done. The second notice never came so i called and checkedwith the dealer and had 2 weeks. I got the second one in but have it setup to check every year on my phone calender
I used the Delphi unit from Advance auto because it was one of the few that showed the gallons per hour spec. Most were between 28 and 34 gph, the delphi was 54 gph.
I have an 08 with lifetime Powertrain and a Chrysler wrap around lifetime on everything else. It was 2000 bucks and it is Chrysler not an aftermarket insurance contract.
That is a pretty important distinction to make as the aftermarket ones seem to tie the dealers hands a bit.
Donor is an NGC, oem was JTEC. Not interchangeable.
It is not a bolt on. Remove the crankshaft and change the data ring. Then change the cam data ring.
The difference is whether the engine controller is a JTEC (02) or NGC after 02. Durango didn't change until mid 2003 model year but the two controllers look nothing alike. Junkyards are full of them so just look around and compare. The build date is inside the drivers door jam. Look the pan and...
I got a set of gibsons welded up after the collector cracked. I would just plan on buying these and bank the 150 you save towards the next set you have to buy in about 3 years.
You could swap the driveline from the 360 truck. The engine controller runs the tranmission.
wiring bundle, ecu, trans etc. along with 360. Do you have emissions/tag laws to worry about?
Actually the '02 engine is the hard one to find. After 03 the 4.7's were all high Data Rate NGC controllers...
basically you need a JTEC engine controller engine from a jeep, durango, or ram. If it has the newer NGC it has different cam and crank wheels. I would consider taking the new and old engines to a shop and have the pan gasket and rear seal changed and see if they can change the crank trigger...
I put a K&N in and put a foam wall around the snorkel to isolate it from engine compartment, so it just sucked cold air from the fender headlight area.
Actually, both cam and crank wheels are different. The engine controller on the 02 is looking for a low data rate set and 03 was an ngc controller and high data rate. I just built my 4.7 in an 02 with an o3 and changed both cam and crank trigger wheels.
Cam can be done from the top...
