6.4 Hemi 2500 Towing Advice, Please...
Have 2018 2500 Tradesman w/ 6.4 and tow 12.5K Montana 5th wheel. Towed in TN & NC along i-40 with no issues and no mods other than Timbren rubber springs added. Need help again - transmission overheating while towing
Let me add that my tires are Michlin LTX LT 275-70R-18. I run the highway at 65 mph max, get 9 to 11 mpg, use regular 87 gas. I use Lucas fuel treatment every 3rd fill for added top cylinder lube and run stock 0-40w oil.- zippertom

Need help again - transmission overheating while towing
Go back to stock tire size. I have the same Tradesman truck and 6.4, 3.73 gear and tow Montana HC 325RL at 12,700 lbs with no issues through the Smokey Mountains with no problems. In the mountains I keep the tow/haul mode on. Transmission and engine temps run normal.- zippertom

1/2 ton to 3/4 ton towing.....worth it?
Had a 2016 Ram 1500 Tradesman 5.7 ltr, crew cab, shortbed, 2WD, 3.73 rearend, 8 spd xmission towing 8K# TT with a high end WDH. it was a great truck, great gas milage but was scary as hell towing.
