Do I need anything unusual with a pair of 1.5" lift springs? I know larger lifts require different sway bar links or extensions, but is 1.5 withing the range of stock (or maybe some Moog aftermarket) links?

I have the Icons springs with stock sway bar and links, I don't think we need longer links, but i'll take a picture with the sway bar angle later on today and post it for you, so you can compare that to stock. i think if the llift was 2.5" or more then yes, longer links will be needed.

If you still have the stock springs, can you post the angles of your sway bar?
Thanks a lot.

Btw i measured the factory rear links, and they seem to be 11 1/4" eye to eye, i'm going to check what else is available in 12-12/14", and give them a test drive, assuming they're not very expensive.

Here's a comparison of the OEM and Moog part I found on Amazon... It appears the Moog might be slightly longer...hard to say for sure since the oem appears angled a bit at the bottom.

Those Hellwig are pure beef looking, but at 11" they wouldn't be longer than stock. I was checking with my Jeep leftover parts, and the longer ones i have are 11" from Skijacker, the stock fackers are long, just thin like Pasta though :), i think i may have some Teraflex ones laying around somewhere in the garage that should be 12", i don't think 1" will make a difference, but what that heck, just for the fun of testing.

I was able to fit the new Teraflex sway links, they went in like a glove, ended up buying a couple of longer bolts from Lowes, to hook up the the frame side (upper bolts), and reused the factory nuts on that end, (the stockers are just too short), the end side that connects to the sway bar fits like a glove, and that one comes with its own set of nuts.

Here is the difference between the two, notice the upper bolt, that won't work with this links

You'll need longer ones, i bought M12x1.50x70

The sway bar lays down down flatter than before, don't know how the stock was though

And how the bar sits with the new upper bolts, factory nuts.

How do the truck feels now ?
I'll be damned, but she feels better around corners compared to before, i did toss her around left to right and viceversa on a couple of tights corners, and sure i can feel the difference, not that before was bad, as much as it is the after feels better :)

Looks good, I think I will pick up a pair as well to go with my ICON 1.5 lift coils and bar. Thanks for taking the time to try this and get pics... :waytogo:

Quick question, those are 8.8 bolts, equivalent to grade 5 - Are you comfortable with those bolts - I would think 10.9's would be the better choice, being suspension related. What were the stock bolts rated do you recall?

NP, thank you for asking, i would have never bothered to even look at the factory links before :)
This links will work on a RAM 1500 with 1.5-2" lift in the back, Teraflex part# 1754500, $56 from amazon,
I had this suckers brand new, as they were too long for my JKU lift in the back, so at least i got to use them after all.

For those needed something even longer, Teraflex also makes a pair that is 14 3/4" long, that i'll guess will work with a truck lifted 4-5" in the back, Teraflex part# 1754410

As far as the bolt grades, never had a problem with those before using them to hold the sway bar links, don't know what the factory ones are rated, but if i had to guess, it's prob 10.9, which i can't find at my local Lowe's store anyways. i may order some online later on, but i think this will be fine for the time being.

Thanks for all the input. I knew the Moog's were the same length as stock but was looking for something to compensate for my 1 1/2" rear lift. as my new Hellwig slopes like the first pics.
Hellwig does make an adjustable set from 11 to 14" but they're over a $100.00 These Teraflex are half the price.
I'm gonna give em a try...,
Thanks again.

@ram1500rsm is the clamp over the coils a precaution from your jeep offloading ?

I've thought about trying to fasten them down myself after seeing maligators pop out when he went into the ditch

Holy crap....
Yep, those are my coil springs retainers, it's a solution back from the Jeep days :), the Icon 1.5" springs seem long enough to hold the 27.5" extended Rancho shocks i have though, but just in case.

What size hose clamp is that?!

I’d like to do the same, cause I have the rear spacers that sit on bottom. Pulling into driveways or making a turn out of a parking lot I can hear some play in the rear springs and spacer.

Here's another option, Hellwig kit meant for 2-4" lift so might not work with 1.5" ICONs, but Hellwig offers a kit with their adjustable sway bar links, which is only ~$50 more than the sway bar alone. Their links appear much beefier than OEM or Moog links for sure, and the Terraflex option also. Plus appears to include hardware so no chasing down longer bolts. I was getting ready to order the 7709 + Terraflex links, but I might call Hellwig Monday and see what they say about running this with 1.5" coils if the links were run down.

https://www.hellwigproducts.com/products/?partnumber=7883

Currently $283 at Amazon, vs $233 for bar only...

https://www.amazon.com/Hellwig-7883-Lifted-Rear-Dodge/dp/B011BER92K

EDIT - interestingly, a lot of online shops (like Moe's) list this as for 4-6" lift, but Hellwig lists it as 2"-4". Anyway I'll call and find out what I can Monday.
