Ramguy18 when you get this figured out PLEASE let me know. I am right around the corner in Milford. I have been reading this and that about it and it's all pretty confusing. Have not had the time to really focus on it. Compounded by the issue of actually changing the bulbs. Seems like a one and done would be real nice.
Milford CT? Me too! Small world.

So in a nut shell. I’m not wanting to change the housings but just a brighter cleaner light.
I need to get the H9 low beam and 9011 High beams correct. I don’t have factory fogs.
Is this correct?
H9 & 9011 lights

I installed these yesterday...got them for Christmas. I think they were $165 or so.

I'm THRILLED with the output so far but I am getting a little bit of condensation. I'll have to take them out and seal them up at some point.

I also have the option of adding a HID kit later if I feel the need. These are a higher improvement over the previous quad halogen.

Don't put HID in your high beams. HID ballasts don't like turning on/off repeatedly.

High beams, I recommend LED or good halogens.

4500k is my preferred color as I drive in rainþfog a LOT.

Common sense isn't...nor is common decency.

Ok so I run my low and fogs together all the time because my lights suck. When my highs go on the lows and fogs switch off. Wtf should I do if hid doesn’t like being switched on and off? This **** is too much for me ........

Your lows should stay on if you have quads, just your fogs should turn off with highs. At least my 17 big horn quads do...

Went with OPT7...Flux V.2 H11 lows and UltraGlow 9006 fog lights...6000k, crisp white lights. Huge difference from stock halogens in my quads! Love them. Out of California.

I was driving home last night in the pouring rain and realized how dim my headlights were. So all morning I have been reviewing options of what to do. I see the h11 to h9 conversion which seems like a great option but the phillips standard h9 has a lot of bad reviews about lasting only 2-3 months or just at a year. Is there a prefered brand over phillips or should I just get used to paying the $8 for a bulb and replace more often?

Best output is HID.
Then LED.
Then halogen.

Mine have been in for a year or two and haven't had one go out yet - but I don't drive the truck often either.
Buy a spare and they will never burn out :)

I was checking out the Diode Dynamics suggestion. Do I need to get the anti-flicker module if I buy the bulbs? Are bulbs easy to change out? I'm not super mechanical...lol.
