Under hard acceleration 3/4+ throttle I'm getting a flashing cel as well as a heavy vibration that is almost like driving on a rumble strip. Let off the gas and after 10 or so seconds the cel is gone and truck is back to normal.

The flashing cel light is throwing a cylinder 1 misfire

I've had coils and plugs replaced, idle is good I don't have the hemi tick.

Dealer thinks it's either the lifter, the fuel injector or valve but wants 3 hours minimum to dig into it.
figured I would ask if anyone else has had this exact problem and what the fix ended up being as well as the cost. I've put 6 grand into this truck in the past 6 months so hoping this won't be to costly

First off stay away from the dealer find a good local shop check the simple stuff first. If its not plugs, Coil, Injector or a fuel pressure issue its the classic sign of a failing lifter/cam lobe. How many miles on it? does it run rough at idle? and dam 6 grand.. what did you have done?

They think it could be the injector, 180,000.
Yea I had control arm done new front shocks, new wheels and tires, u joint, exhaust manifold and tuneup which included plugs and coils
As well as the shift solenoid

I agree typically I have a private mechanic I use but recently moved and all the good local shops are booking a month out in my area.
My truck was stuck in 4th from a shift solenoid so I took it to the dealer because they were able to get the truck in next day. I then asked them about this problem while I was there because it's been going on for a month.

In tank fuel pump pressure issue? If it was real bad you would see a fuel rail low pressure code, but maybe on the edge? Cyl 1 is the furthest away from the fuel inlet on that side of the engine.. just a thought..

Pull the valve cover & see if pushrods are loose or bent. If loose, lifter or cam likely wiped out.
The cam has been ruled out by the dealer. I don't think it's the cam either the idle is smooth and quiet no pinging or ticking literally sounds identical to my dad's 22 ram 1500 he just got delivered. The dealer is saying it's the lifter or the valve or injector. I was hoping someone else had the same experience before I bit the bullet just to have a better idea of what I'm in store for

Going the the dealer was your first mistake.
Obviously you didn't read the post. I went to dealer cuz I just moved to the area I am and the dealer was the only place that could get it in next day. It's a work truck and I need it. All the local shops said 3+ weeks

A Thermostat only opening partially or closing partially during acceleration will overheat #1 cylinder to the point of distortion or over time wear the cylinder wall.

Engines without thermostats or lower temperature thresholds tend to experience ring wear in #1 cylinder from improper warmup.

^^^ This^^^. Also look for a difference in travel distance between cyl 1 and other rocker arms. A valve that only opening partly will run fine at idle or lower rpm / engine load driving but will be affected during higher rpm / load.

Did you ever get this fixed? I'm having the same problem with #3 cylinder.

I took out the coils and plugs to make sure the dealer did what they said and when I took it for a ride after the issue was gone and I haven't had it pop back up since..

Sorry, I guess I missed what the dealer actually did. I saw the post where they thought it could be injectors, valve or lifter but I didn't see what they actually fixed.

You didn't miss anything I was having the problem after the dealer did that work and then they wanted 3 hours to look into it/ thought it could be the lifters ect.
But the problem disappeared after I took out the coils and plugs and put them back in. So I'm not sure if they just didn't secure one properly

Gotcha, thank you. Glad it wasn't a big deal for you.
