But for the record, that car represents less than one percent of my net worth. In the unlikely event that I have to spend $10K on a new engine, that doesn't even constitute a "bad day" in my world. I would make a phone call, or two. Then wonder what's for lunch.
I don't have to look at the spark plugs to tell if the engine is not running right. The Old Man taught me long ago on that farm I grew up on, you listen to your equipment. It's talking to you. How does it feel? Does it smell wrong? What do the gauges say?
I just paid $900 to a professional tuner, who ownes a lot of very expensive equipment.He knows exactly what is going on with every facet of that engine. Everything. But you, in your infinite wisdom, can look at the spark plugs, and know more. Good for you.
