Who Has The Most Miles On Original Spark Plugs ?

My Ram has 91,000 miles.. I always figured if copper plugs will go way over, then iridium plugs should be good for 120,000, maybe more.

I jokingly asked a mechanic how many miles the original serpentine belt would last and he laughed, "I'll tell you when mine breaks, it's at 160,000 miles."

400 thousand mile or 400 thousand km? Equates to 248k miles. Still impressive.

Classic has only been out for 5 years. I’m not ready to call that old. Ha

I just traded in my 2014 with 208,000 miles on original plugs.
My wife’s truck was bought with about 150000 miles on it, now has close to 240,000 and I feel like they are original plugs. They looked great two weeks ago when I pulled them to change valve cover gasket.

Changed my plugs at 139,898 miles. I don't think the previous owner(s) ever replaced them. Looked like they were the original copper plugs. They were worn as hell, gap was .060 or more. Was the cause of my misfires.

Don't waste your money on the Ripp coils,Satera has a video up comparing those coils to the factory coils ,lets just say the aftermarket Ripp coils weren't very impressive compared to the stock coils. You won't find any hi-po shops building 1,000 hp cars/trucks and using after market coils,most shops will tell you to stick with the stock coils.
Alot of guys don't realize the manufacture's are trying to squeeze every once of milege they can out new vehicles,and have spent way more money developing coils to do that and keep the gubbermint nannies happy,then the aftermarket can spend. Don't fall for any hype on aftermarket coils,your stock coils are better quality
Rebuild your original coils with new boots and springs if they're in rough shape,and clean the contact point under the springs,and call it good.

Aftermarket Hi-po coils

Satera tuning has a good tidbit up showing the differance between a set of after market coils and the stock coils. If you don't have facebook,the stock coils out performed the after market coils. They didn't specify which aftermarket coils,but "RippOff" was mentioned,so you can draw your own...

most miles or most years, lol. will update this thread later this summer and see how old plugs do.

I have kept my wife's daily on the road for 15 years, so because she drives so much the truck gets less care.

Since using the NGK Ruthenium HX plugs (purchased from Rock Auto), I'll not go to any other spark plug.

I immediately noticed a smoother running engine with a bit more efficiency, and a good amount more of get up and go, too!

One should also clean your throttle body as well. This, as we know, is a service/maintenance item that does provide a known improvement in performance and overall drivability, too.

All just my $0.02 though

I wouldn’t go that far someone might start suggesting maintenance on the intake manifold gaskets.

This hasn't been talked about for awhile,but check your intake manifold bolts.They call for 108 in-lbs or roughly 9 ft-lbs of torque,and they should be checked at least yearly,as they do loosen up. I've been doing mine at least twice a year on all 3 of of my hemi equipped vehicles.They should be...
