i dont know if this means anything, but as we were loading the truck on to the trailer tonight and the nose of the truck was in the air, the knocking somewhat went away and with the truck up on the trailer the knock stopped, for the minute or so we had it running the knock was gone. also forgot...- tammybrian2

i took my sons ram in to town the other day, driving between 50-60mph and out of nowhere, the engine starts knocking. the knock slowed as rpm's dropped. the truck has 147k on it. we're are in the process of trying to get it to a shop to have it looked at. my first thought was a rod, but...- tammybrian2

cummins. OAT coolant level is good, there's an 'OAT' sticker on the recovery tank, orange in color. he decided to have the coolant replaced at a shop and have them throw in the new thermostat while there at it. i'll let ya know how it turns out.- tammybrian2

well...that's a good question about the mileage. lol.... i wasnt with him when he bought it. i just know he paid a pretty penny for it! thanks for the thermostat suggestion...that did not even cross my mind, but that's where we'll start!- tammybrian2

my sons 2017 limited is not blowing out heat like i think it should. 142k on the truck. we had it out today, 24 degree weather. no grill cover/bra. he let it warm up for 15 minutes or so, drove 10 miles, sat running in his driveway for a half hour or so, drove another 10 miles and the air...- tammybrian2
