Thanks for the tip guys. I had tires installed a couple months back and went to do some brake work and no key! Wasn't sure how to proceed, but McGard came to the rescue. The directed me to a lock ID card I didn't know I had and ordered a replacement. Cheaper and easier than any other option...
Thanks for the tip! I will avoid putting a display cap on my shift knob. I had never thought about it getting misaligned by shutting off the engine while in drive. I have occasionally done that and it jumped to park and I presume the knob didn't move. Doesn't matter unless you have a cap...
Don't overlook the Pentastar V6, now with EcoTorque. My 2014 crew cab has been great now at 52K miles and gives 23-24 MPG on trips and 18-20 around town here in FL. I do light towing with it, boats and small camper, no problem.
I would also recommend looking at the third brake light. The leak was obvious with probably a gallon of water under the rear seat. At the time warranty fixed it, but should just be a gasket.
My 2014 1500 Crew Cab 4X4 with the Pentastar has frequently done 24 MPG on the highway. Would probably do better if I kept the speed down from 75+. It performs any light towing that I do, small camper or boats. I have been very satisfied and amazed at what it will do. An incredible truck.
My 2014 Ram 1500 also had a battery die when it was only about 2 years old. I replaced it with a Walmart Everstart battery. It wasn't the exact size, but depth and width were the same but it was about 1/4" taller and fit perfectly. The padded cover even still closed over it. It is still...
I have the 2014 Big Horn Crew Cab 4x4 now with 46K miles and no issues with the Pentastar V6 or 8 speed trans. I love this truck. 24MPG on the highway around 20MPG around local country driving. Amazing for a full size truck.
My '14 Bighorn with 3.6/8 speed does that every morning. I just try to avoid a fast start first thing. After the first shift everything is fine. Probably relates to circulating fluid in the hydraulics within the transmission. I have tried waiting a bit after starting, but seems to make no...
The only electrical issue I've seen in my '14 Bighorn is the cruise control will occasionally not be available. After restarting the truck it usually comes back. Obviously some type of computer issue where rebooting the system restores the function. Otherwise no issues.
Neil E, Your comment makes sense to me. I drove from Florida to CT via mostly I-95 doing close to 80 a lot of the way and per the trip computer averaged over 23 MPG. Doing 55 would definitely jack that up. The 3.6 with 8 speed is remarkable. My son in law has the F150 with aluminum body...
I've been driving the 1500 with the Pentastar V6 for four years. No regrets at all. I do some light towing, small camper and boats, no problem at all. Plenty of power for highway 22-23 highway MPG regularly. The V6 RAM is an amazing truck. Try it and see.
Never had a spray in liner, but with my drop in and a tri fold tonneau, everything stays dry. I think the rippled bottom allows minor water to flow out the back without getting items in the bed wet. Very happy with it so far.
Assuming that the battery packs are similar to current electric car packs, they are proving to last for a long time, 8+ years. They would be relatively expensive to replace.
Just running boards and a tri-fold tonneau on mine. Love the V6 1500. It's not a sports car, just does the job no muss, no fuss and is remarkably economical.
I have a 2014 Big Horn Crew Cab 4X4 with the V6/8spd and have been amazed how great it works for everyday use and light trailer towing. 23-24 MPG highway, better if I slowed it down. Averaging around 20 MPG around town in a rural area. I tried the Hemi, but didn't feel it offered much more...
I traded in a Cadillac SRX AWD. Was looking at a Durango, but after having transfer case issues with SUVs, I found '14 Ram Bighorn V6 4WD crew cab offered better mileage and much more room. We haven't been disappointed. Performance with the V6 is great and mileage in the mid-20s on a trip...
My 2014 satellite radio works great usually in open areas in Florida, but if you get into an area of heavy forest, it cuts out frequently. Hope that is all it is.
