    2019 HD Build & Price

These things have gotten seriously expensive. On the plus side, they qualify for section 179 depreciation (https://www.irs.gov/publications/p946#en_US_2018_publink1000107705) to help take some of the sting out of the purchase. Leasing could be a significantly better alternative for...

Kinda Bummed Out About the New HDs

Would happily do so but that would probably get me divorced - the mother in law usually rides middle seat on long trips because she's the smallest.

Kinda Bummed Out About the New HDs

Just a convenience thing - not having to fold up/down seats, followed by the false floor, when my arms are full. A little thing, yes. But at the price points we're talking about, the sum of little things make a big difference. It's not like these are $20K trucks.

Kinda Bummed Out About the New HDs

The middle seat passenger bitches non-stop about that hump on my crew cab. It does look smaller on the mega.

Kinda Bummed Out About the New HDs

The mega cab floor is flat? I thought there was a driveline hump in the middle. Obviously, there's a totally flat surface on the seatbacks when you fold both sides down but I could have sworn there was a driveline hump where your feet rest.

Kinda Bummed Out About the New HDs

As the details trickle out, I'm kind of bummed about some of the things on the new HDs. Obviously, no one's putting a gun to my head to make me buy one but it feels like competition is pulling away from us on the new HDs. Specifically: Have to step up to a 3500 & High Output package to get...

Confirmed 1,000 lb-ft, 8 speed gas, new updates

Yeah, that's only 3 years away; we'll see if they actually do the "all new" truck then.

Confirmed 1,000 lb-ft, 8 speed gas, new updates

I know we've talked about the truck plant retooling costs/timing thing already but the new HDs still feel like a mid-model refresh to me. Yeah, they changed a lot of stuff, "new from the ground up . . ." but stuff from the A-pillars back really carry over. There's new tech, clearly, and the...

2019 Ram 1500 IIHS Crash Tests Available

Most folks gave zero f**ks about this when the 4th gen flunked small overlap but it's reassuring to see the improvement nevertheless. 2019: https://www.iihs.org/iihs/ratings/vehicle/v/ram/1500-crew-cab-pickup 2018: https://www.iihs.org/iihs/ratings/vehicle/v/ram/1500-crew-cab-pickup/2018 I...

Parking Brake Release Handle Part Number?

Like the other folks, my parking brake release handle broke off in my hand this week. While annoying, this appears to be a fairly cheap & simple fix. What's the part number for this cheap piece of plastic? Google searching says 1NL97DX9AB but that part does not appear to have a raised *white*...

"Magic" Suspension: Stock Height, Rake, Better Off- & On-Road

I'm mostly afraid of weird problems associated with long term suspension geometry changes.

"Magic" Suspension: Stock Height, Rake, Better Off- & On-Road

The answer might turn out to be: don't do anything because FCA already engineered what you want and stock is as good as you're going to get. I think I want a "magic" (AKA "have your cake & eat it too") suspension: Stock height Stock rake 100K mile durability Not too pricey (under $1K...

New Shoes & Ongoing Review: Hankook Dynapro ATM RF10

Had to replace the Yoko A/T G015s after about 30K (despite them being warrantied for 40K): http://www.ramforum.com/posts/1725226/ I didn't do a great job of keeping the thread up to date on those tires but will do my best to keep this one up to date; hopefully it'll be useful to others...

Yokohama Geolandar A/T G015 Ongoing Review

Final review: gotta replace them after 30K miles, despite the warranty being 40K. The last 7,500 miles have kind of sucked, too - traction is way down from the 20K mark. Rear tire - wear bar almost in line with tread Front tire - wear bar almost in line with tread

Thinking Keep my 5.7 Hemi or trade for EcoDiesel

I drove the ecodiesel before I got the hemi and I found the acceleration after 35mph to be totally unacceptable compared to the hemi. The comparison was as apples to apples as I could get it - both crew cab Laramie 4x4, 8 speed, and 3.92 gears.

Bakflip G2 Latch Mechanism Totally Separated from Panel

Yep, part arrived the other day. Like everyone here has said, customer service on this has been outstanding. Design-wise, the cover needs work but at least I've been given a solution.

Bakflip G2 Latch Mechanism Totally Separated from Panel

Been going back & forth w/ customer service via e-mail today. Short story: Bak is willing to send a new latch mechanism I will need to install it I'm happy with customer service thus far I'm not happy with the weak design of the system The poor design is obviously not customer service's fault...

    Big city living... specifically LA

Where in LA do you foresee having to drive and park? If you're going downtown with a full size truck you're going to have a bad time. If you're just doing some freeways and out to the burbs (e.g. Irvine, Rowland Heights, etc.), it'll be inconvenient but OK. More importantly, how long do you...
