Factory 4600's seem to be painted stock shocks (They don't take an Allen key to hold the shift when tightening).
I had take-off 4600's installed on my 2014 2500 ctd. After installing Bilsteins lift springs and 5100's up front the ride quality increased tremendously.
When the 5100 rear shocks...
I went with bilstein springs and 5100's plus a solid adjustable trackbar. Rides WAY BETTER than factory. No more bottoming out.
I wish I would've done it sooner. I have airbags in the back for when I haul my truck camper so squating is never an issue.
I'm interested to know the effects on a stock height truck as well. I have a crew cab and love the ride and groud clearance but HATE the lean.
I had installed oversize swaybars and bilstein shocks on a 2002 durango at the same time. The hadling was amazingly better but the ride suffered...
You can definetly get major discounts on these trucks. I got my 2011 longhorn over $8,000 below sticker with 2.5% apr at the end of December 2011. I thought I did great untill I read about someone getting the same discount on a 2012!
