    New shock recommendation

I actually felt 67ish and 72ish felt pretty damn supple. 72/82 feels "Flinstonian".....yabba dabba doo.... Eff me.....airing those down quick......

    New shock recommendation

My $0.01......I've had plenty of experience with Bilsteins my Toyota rigs and I wouldn't spend someone else's money on them. Blew up a set of $800 coilovers years ago and haven't been impressed with their longevity in their lower trims either. Then again, they are relatively short money so it...

    6.4 transmission staying too high

For me, I don't really put many miles on this rig unless I'm towing, my 2014 has only like 43,000 miles on it, so yes it is annoying the times I take it to work 18 miles round trip or a run up to my cabin with it which is 450 round trip but.......when towing in Tow/Haul I'm usually manually...

    6.4 transmission staying too high

This has been the consistent complaint with the 6.4 rigs. I have been dealing with this for 5 years. Tow/Haul is a little bit better as it at least gives you 2nd more often. I hear a Pedal Commander somewhat helps. I still maintain that I love everything about the truck but I would like to...

Those numbers are about right in my 4-5 years of driving the 6.4. Enjoy

Traded in 2016 6.4 to new Cummins!

I have them on mine, some days I wish I had the large towing mirrors but most of the time they are fine. I tow two trailers and I have no issues really with these mirrors. Go figure on a Longhorn Laramie the two options mine doesn't have is the sunroof (which I am fine with not having) and the...

Took the 6.4 on a road trip

^^^^ This Every one of those sensors and calcs has a margin of error even before wear and tear from usage comes into play......combine that whole series of variables with +/- and you end up with some noise in your numbers. Some manufacturers do better than others with this, some probably...

    The 6.4 HD Hemi Thread

Thanks for typing that up. I would probably be in the same boat as you, sweet rig if I didn't already a 6.4L.......but not so compelling an upgrade to make me want to start over on payments. I'll own mine real soon and with only 42K miles on a Longhorn I'll sit and enjoy this one for a while...

Took the 6.4 on a road trip

Bingo. Like I said....we should all be happy with 15-16mpg at best highway.

Took the 6.4 on a road trip

I'm still wondering why people expect more than low to mid teens from these rigs. For the life of me I really can't. There hasn't been a heavy duty/super duty rig with a gasser that was ever known for getting anything but craptastic fuel economy. Decades of established experience should set...

Took the 6.4 on a road trip

The truck is capable of 17s in certain cases. I normally sit solidly in the 11-13mpg range with 35s and 3.73s. Towing, I see anywhere from 9-11.5mpg. On a road trip from MA to NC, all around Asheville/Brevard for a week and then back with 4 people and 4 bikes off the back with gear under the...

    Better mpg

I started doing this lately just so the damn thing will give me 2nd gear on slow speed 90 degree right hand turns. So sick of being stuck in 3rd at 10mph. I'll leave it out of tow/haul when it is wet, that is it. I keep threatening to get a Pedal Commander but.....

How Many Miles on you 6.4 Hemi??????

I'm on the low side...... ~42K on my 2014......no real issues to speak of at this point.....60% of those miles have been towing.....

    The 6.4 HD Hemi Thread

I have a 2014 with 3.73s and 35s and tow up to ~8000lbs several times per year, and have no issues. Been doing it for 4 years now. I'll let you know the first time I say "I wish I had 4.10s". As stated before, the difference is minimal.

Pulsar Tuner for 6.4 is available-

It's funny, I'm reading this where the OP is getting too many downshifts for his liking and I'm like I wish the God D#$% truck would downshift.....friggin' thing loves 3rd gear......cruising along at back road speed, someone bangs a left in front of me, I slow down to 10-15mph as they...

Ford gets new 7.3 Gasser...will Ram respond?

I think it is an interesting niche at this point with the diesel capability, price etc. climbing so high, it is nice to see the gasser HD market start to slowly close the gap a bit. I'm certainly happy with my 6.4L, would love the 8sp but I'm not trading in my rig for anything for a long time...

Pulsar Tuner for 6.4 is available-

Totally different world gas and diesel with tuning etc. Forced induction etc. gives tuners a lot more variables to work with from a tuning perspective when dealing even with purely stock vehicle. Gassers without much in supporting mods are usually limited to very modest changes. Add well...

    New Shoes for the 2500 - General X3s 295 65 20

So far so good, but, I have only put about 5,000 miles on them as I baby this rig and use it mostly for towing and occasional road trips. They were great on a long road trip from MA to VA towing our TT,smooth, stable etc.

    Ram 2500 trans update

Nope...... can't ever remember seeing the light and I sure as heck have never lost gears and I can guarantee I have been at 175 at some point......it stays pretty low but isn't immune to fluctuations.

    Ram 2500 trans update

I concur, this is what my 6.4L reads as well on a normal warmed up summer day.......that trans temp is pretty damn stable at 168-175 even when I am towing, including 90+ degree days.....and hills etc. For an unloaded rig to be sitting at 210+ all day......something is ferked up, and it ain't...

    Towing results --again 2500-6.4 3:73

This thread is filled with some good real life/reality perspective. Not "my truck can hold 5th gear idling up a hill at 65mph with 10K on the hitch while getting 16mpg" shit. As some have probably read in other threads since I got this rig a few years back we have towed mostly the horses at...
