Got my truck stuck duck hunting last weekend and was in 4wd spinning tires heard a loud ping and then neither of the front tires were spinning. The driveshaft was still spinning and no noise other than the initial ping. After about 10 hours we got it out and no obvious damage that I can see from...
In my 96 ram 2500 4wd I'm getting a vibration that I can feel throughout the truck and in the pedals and steering wheel. It isn't very bad but gets worse when turning right and goes away when turning left. I was thinking driver side front axle bearing gone bad? What else could it be?
I recently busted the mounts on my passenger side head light while towing my buddies truck onto a trailer and for now I'm just JB welding everything back together but I was wondering what some good headlights are that I could get for under 200 bucks for both
Wasn't sure weather to put this in interior or exterior but the driver side door latch is going bad to the point where it doesn't shut very well at all and I don't want to pay 90 bucks for a replacement. Is there a way to fix it or would it be worth finding one in a junkyard that is in decent...
I was looking at getting husky springs LP7 helper springs from rockauto so my truck doesn't squat as much when I haul wood or sometimes hay but it said that the weight rating on the springs is only 1000 pounds which is obviously less than I haul so what is a good option that would help it not...
The leather that is on the center consol lid in my truck is ripped on the corners of each side where you'd rest your arm and it looks really ugly. Not too big of a deal, but I'm just wondering what the best way to make it look nice is. Maybe try to rewrap it with some other material? Thanks
My 96 ram 2500 with a 12 valve currently has a 7 inch side dump straight pipr exhaust which is a bit too loud for me and any neighbors within a half mile. I want to change it to just a 4 inch straight pipe with maybe a 5 inch tip. Where's the best place to get the material for this and is it...
As the title states, I've got really sloppy steering in my 96 3/4 ton. The play is for sure in the steering box which was replaced last spring. I have tried doing the adjustment that there is a write up for in the DIY section with no luck. Anything I could stop tighten it up? Thanks.
Anybody used the Lucas engine oil stop leak? If so what kind of results? I've heard the most engine oil additives are bad but I've seen a lot of good reviews on the Lucas stop leak. Thanks.
I've seen a lot of different answers on what fluid to use in a nv4500 transmission. I just want a straight forward answer on what kind of fluid to put in my trany that won't screw it up
After replacing pads and shoes and bleeding my brake system the brakes aren't working very well at all. The brake pedal is stiff and if i stand on it they'll slow the truck down a little bit, but not very well at all. I did adjust the rear drums after changing everything. After driving around...
Any cool ways to mount a cb radio in a manual, seems like it'd get in the way of the shifter in the typical spot. Just looking for some cool ways to do it. Thanks
I have to give my 96 12v a little bit of throttle every time I start it or it will crank for a while before it starts. When it's warm I just have to tap the throttle while I turn the key and it will start and idle fine. If it's cold I have to keep a little bit of throttle for a while or else it...
Where can I get an axle seal for where the drive shaft goes into the differential on my 96 ram 2500? It's looks like the old one is bad because there is fluid leaking out of where the drive shaft connects. Thank-you
I want to paint my interior black and am wondering if I can paint all the plastics while it's still on the truck or do I have to take it all out? With the carpet is it possible to dye it black or should it be replaced? Also with the carpet on the door panels where you rest your elbow is it...
Trying to do the brakes on my 96 ram 2500 but the drum is stuck bad. It will spin but no movement other than that what so ever. Sprayed pb blaster in all the gaps and tapped it with a hammer, got to the point where I was beating it with the back of an 8 pound maul. I didn't want to torch it...
Can a fuel leak where the line from the lift pump connects to the top of the fuel filter/ water separator cause the truck to not start? The filter is definitely getting fuel as it is over flowing but I try to bleed the injectors and no fuel. Could air getting onto the system cause this?
I changed the lift pump on my 96 cummins now O'Neill turn over but won't start. Already checked the solenoid and not it. The filter/water separator is getting fuel and when I press the prime button there is a clicking noise near the top of the fuel/water separator. PLEASE HELP.
