Almost at 97000kms, 2 yrs. Would you get more oil out by draining it at operating temp of 81C when the internal thermostat and valves are open or would draining it in the morning at 5C yield the same or better results? I’d rather not work on piping hot equipment, but it’s not the end of the...
Don’t waste your money. I have pretty much the identical truck as you. In exactly 2 years of ownership I’ve put on 96000kms. There’s nothing mechanically wrong with this thing. I’ve learned over the years that unless you have visible oil leakage or a check engine light, on, in the service bay...
I don’t do much summer camping in Alberta or B.C. anymore. Reservations get bought out the first day and planning of the summer activities often needs to be done with only weeks of notice instead of months. I have, however, had great luck getting short notice spots in the western states...
I like that they’ve added all the things to the higher level trucks. But I’d like it even more if the decontented the tradesman and bighorn trucks. Remove all the screens, features, garbage, and cut $5-8k off the price.
In some of the other charts over the years similar to the one you’ve posted, I’ve read that the 300lbs passenger weight is included in the payload. Some don’t specify. Always wondered if that’s true or not.
Everyone has their limit on what they’re willing to pay, monthly payments, years of payments, and interest rates that change their $60k truck into a $75k truck that sucks $10k in fuel per year. My wallet is more important than having the new shiny or something slightly bigger than Bob next door...
You are going to be spending a lot of money in gas daily driving a 6.4….. you will spend slightly less daily driving a 6.7 if diesel and gas prices are the same. If you can’t pay off said new vehicles in a short amount of time you’re going to spend a fortune in interest.
I’ve had both. They’re...
I paid $58kcdn for my heavily optioned warlock almost 2 years ago. This is what the most optioned one at the local dealer is, along with the cheapest Rebel.
A dealer is going to offer you less than $39k, you might be able to barter that up. When I was at the dealer at just shy of 60000kms to see if I could get my door panels fixed under warranty, a new s!eazy salesman tried his best to put me into a rebel and I made him run back and forth many times...
This is what 6000lbs with 900lbs tongue weight with 3.55 looks like behind a pentastar.
Since your build sheet says you only have 4400lbs of capacity behind your 3.21 you would need to spend a couple grand to upgrade your front and rear end.
A better option would be to find a $5k ok ish 3/4-1...
The point of a small trailer: They fit anywhere!
This was 3 trucks and 3 trailers ago. At 20’ from hitch to bumper you could take the last minute trip and not worry about having to reserve your spot 6 months in advance for the 3 spots in the park that can accommodate your behemoth.
Case in...
Look at the rust on the bottom part. That’s been broken for a long time. Driving on the dirt, eventually the crack worked its way up to where one small bump made it pop.
I know. There’s quite a few 4 cylinders out there that can put out 268ft/lbs.
There’s also a lot of people out there that think a 4000w Coleman generator can charge an EV and drive forever.
You’re only going to put back into the battery what the max torque of said engine can put out. The Pentastar can run all day at 4000rpm, without overstressing its cooling system, to put its 268ish ft/lbs back into the batttery. If you’re pulling more than that towing your trailer the truck will...
Also check the A/C drain line. As I recall it goes from around the heater core and out about 1ft behind the passenger front wheel above the frame rail. If it’s clogged the water will pool inside the dash.
This is one of the better dashcam review vids: https://youtu.be/4AnyhHl3_tE?si=JNG_dvbR4SqX_arY
I’ve got the camera right beside the rear view mirror on the right side. I have a long usb cord. It runs from the top of the camera in between the windshield and headliner under the top of the...
I can recall every vehicle I’ve ever owned having an occasional clunk in the drive train.
It’s been almost 2 years since I traded in the 6.4 and the only clunk I remember is suddenly letting off the gas as the transmission up shifts at lower speeds. 2nd, 3rd gear. It was a very rare and...
Don’t overspend on your dash cam. Regardless of brand, they all use one of two sensors. They all come with a bunch of useless features that you will never use. I’ve got a simple Amazon Chortau dashcam that was $55 3 years ago. Got one for the girlfriends car, too. Pick where you want it to hang...
