    Ya I looked around a bit and once I found the used at 1500 done deal. I tried the fluid chance first ran it for 2 months and it got worse. Since the swap last weekend it has been running just like new. I called another dealer this week and I'm going in on Wednesday to have it relearned...

    Replaced broken manifold stud

    I changed both sides the past weekend. 3 broken studs in total. I also did the welding nut trick worked like a charm. I kept my old manifolds as they are "seasoned" and if it happens again I will get the old ones milled straight and put them back on. This will stop it from happening again.

    Ya I am not sure the cost of a new tranny. I get a fair deal on the used and was not 100% sure that was the problem so I went the used route. 200,000 km less than my old one so fresh oil and crossed my fingers that that was the problem.     I had the shudder in my 2014 QC Laramie 4x4 5.7 with a 8HP70 tranny with 3.21 gears and 260,000 KM. I did several things over about 1.5 years. Finally this past weekend my Son (Auto Mechanic) and I did a tranny swap. I found a tranny out of a 2016 ram with only 60,000 KM on it. No more shudder...

    Well My son and I swapped out the tranny and put new exhaust manifolds on this past Saturday. Everything went well took us 11 hours from start to finish. I blew out the tranny cooling lines and emptied the TC like Wild One suggested and put in 9 L of fluid, Ran it through the gears and toped it...

    Thank you for the tips much appreciated. I will pick up a few extra liters today. Can I blow out the cooler lines? Yes I will be using the new thermal unit. Fingers crossed I won't need to marry the used tranny.
