Looks like you have a 2016 Ram. I traded in my 2015 for a 2019. My 2015 didn't have this issue. It appears to be a Gen 5 quirk. I am driving around with the EGR unplugged and it is so much better, not perfect but better. So far no CEL.
I wondered the same thing. I am confused when it comes to the pedal commander, does it work with the cummins? Seems like mixed messages when I look at their website.
Dealer installed software update today and it made no difference is pedal response. Still surges. He unplugged the EGR and it...
Another update from my dealer
'I have received information that a software update was release on Friday that includes surge and idle improvements. They feel that this should resolve what you are experiencing. Let me know when you can swing by and I'll get the software loaded for you."

Here is what my dealer is telling me
"I am still working with the engineers for Cummins and they have had me trying different things on our truck since it acts just like yours. We have found that unplugging the EGR valve makes a huge improvement but I don't know how they plan to resolve the...
you are correct even the dealer can't calibrate the TPS, they tried to calibrate it with their diagnostics tools and it doesn't exist for gen 5 trucks. They had me drive a 2020 cummins and it does exactly the same thing as my 2019 cummins. They both have a light throttle surge and appears to...
I have a 2019 Ram Cummins that surges with light throttle pressure. Off idle the motor jumps 500 RPMS with the slightest touch of the pedal. This is most noticeable while trying to navigate dirt roads at slow speeds. The ride becomes jerky trying to keep the speeds below 10MPH. Is this...
I am curious about your surging issues and if they are the same as mine. Off idle my truck is really jerky. it is very noticable when trying to navigate dirt roads at slow speeds. Off idle the truck will jump 400 rpms with the slightest touch. I haven't had any codes. I will bring this...
Took mine back into the dealer a couple of weeks ago. They drove it around while data logging what the ECM and other modules were doing. They told me everything is normal and that certain modules are calling for the fan to engage. They said in there Research RAM has removed a lot of the...
Can you confirm if this is a common problem? It's 20 degrees outside, truck is dead cold, why is my cooling fan running. Sounds like a turbine going down the freeway at 70mph.

My engine fan runs randomly even when the engine is cold. Dealer says PCM is turning it on and that RAM is working on a fix. Anyone else have this issue or heard of it? Not sure I believe anything the dealer tells me. I have a 2019 2500. I bought it in December and it's always had this...
