    First time oil change

I second the oil filter plug tool. Change my oil every 5k - 7k miles and have never dripped a drop of oil using this tool. Also works great if you pre-fill your new filter prior to install.

Found this Dodge panel truck in Tombstone Arizona

Just finishing off a 1949 B1-PW full frame off restoration, I would perform the same on this truck. Breakdown and repair/replace what's needed, full blast and repaint of running chases, complete resto of interior and glass, change to a 12v positive electrical system but leave the exterior sheet...

    MPG effect of Leveling Kit

Although my 2009 truck was a 3500 Diesel, when I did the self-leveling with just slightly larger tires, I lost approx. 2 mpg. With my new 3500, I will not be leveling it.

    Check engine/ regen.

As 06 Dodge says, most auto stores and the internet still sell the wrong air filters for these trucks. I was troughing a P0299 turbo underboost code. The dealer tried to fix twice then saying they needed to put a new turbo on it. When I took it in for the new turbo, the tech found that the...

Out of Curiosity, How Much Does the Cummins HO and Aisin Trans Weigh?

Just to chime in, I run my fronts at 55 - 60 and rears at 60 - 65, get great mileage out of them and not to stiff for me, when towing my 16k fifth wheel, I bump up to OEM recommendation. Had my truck on scales twice and steer axle weighs between 5080 lbs and 5260 lbs depending on how I load the...

    Tires

I agree with others, I tow a 16k fifth wheel over several summit passes several times a year and drive my truck as a daily the rest of the time. I only run Cooper Discoverer AT3 xlt due to their load rating, quite ride, great mileage and have had no issues in the snow (compared to other tires I...

Highest towing capacity for the 5.7

Just flat tow your jeep with a portable brake buddy, cheeper than trailer and problem solved on weight. You can still then load the bed of the truck with whatever else you need.

    Warranty Advice Requested

As others have said, use OEM Filters and keep receipts. Also keep a log on when performed and mileage since some Maintenace items require "X Miles or X time frame". I keep mine on a spread sheet for all my vehicles.

    3500 mpg

My 2019 3500 HO gets on average 17 - 19 mpg when driving on flat ground and keeping it at 65 mph or less, 16 - 17 mpg driving up and down the hills (I live in the foothills of the Seirra Nevada's at 2500 ft and frequently drive up and down to the closest city. When pulling by 15,000 lb 5ther, I...

    Here…..But Not By Choice

As others have mentioned, I also had a leak at my 3rd brake light on my 2019 3500 Laramie when it was new. It only showed up during a drive through car wash. The water appeared at the back corners of the headliner. When I checked the screws that held in the 3rd light, I found they were lose. I...

    Need Advice - 2020 Ram 2500 & Towing 5th Wheel Toy Hauler

Back to the hitch. I have a 3500 short bed with OEM puck system and am using the B&W Patriot sliding hitch. I have not had to slide the hitch back yet after many trips. There are now rotating pin boxes that eliminate the need for a slider on a short bed (google it and you will see what I mean)...

Tonneau Cover & sprayed on bed liner

For others with 5th wheel hitches I thought I would share my fit with the BakFlip MX4 cover. I too have the puck system in my 2019 3500 and took a measurement of 1 1/4" from top of hitch to top of bed side rail caps. I have a Patriot Slider so figured between being able to slide the hitch...

    Bakflip bed cover

I have the BakFlip MX4. It's been a great cover with little leakage down the ends of tailgate (not in bed). You can close it with tailgate open or closed and close tailgate with top closed (even the fob tailgate opener works with cover closed). I was concerned that my 5th wheel hitch would...

In desperate need of 5th wheel towing advise

A few more things to consider. I finally loaded up my 2018 3500 and went to the scales with my 35 ft Fifth wheel. I had added up all the additional weight and thought I was good but when weighed I was 220 lbs over my rear axle rating (7,220 lbs, have a 7,000 lb axle) but good on the front axle...

    “Camera system unavailable”

Saw this post so thought maybe someone has figured out all the backup camera fixes. Just replaced both my batteries in my 2019 Ram 3500 and now the radio does not even recognize my OEM backup cameras (both tailgate and cab cameras). I don't even get the manual icon/control on my screen. Radio...

    2019 Emissions Recall !

I had the Emissions Recall VB6 performed on my 2019 3500 and did not notice any loss of performance in torque or HP BUT have noticed a big difference if both the usage of DPF fluid and DPF Regen. My truck which is not driven hard most of the time would have my DPF digital read out showing 1/4+...

    DEF Fluid

I have gone through approx 7.5 gal of DEF in 5000 miles on my new 2019 3500 HO, mainly city driving. I have also received the Recall VB6 that identifies it as a "2019 DJ D2 Diesel Engine Calibration". Has anyone else got this recall and had it performed? Does this recall have anything to do with...
